Burglary Mission Tutorial

Recommended Posts

Just today I finally did the mission, and got $13520 and said the missions were complete, but it did not count in my missions completed! cryani.gif

Why is that? I stole like 26 items in one run....  happy.gif

Does it ever count as completed for anyone? catspider.gif  yawn.gif

It's not counted as a mission, per se, because it's not required for 100% completion. The only thing you get out of it is the cash reward and infinite sprint.

EDIT: Oops, girishb must have beaten me too it. blush.gif

Thanks for the quick answers. My main experiece has been with Vice City where for pretty much any mision attempt there was also a mission completed.

I'm trying to make my own master save game files , which is why I am so sensitive about that. Thought it'd be perfect, but apperently not...

Off Topic - I believe I've heard say that the mission attempts/completed won't match even if the game is done perfectly... Anyone care to elaborate? nervous.gif

Some missions are only cutscenes, so the game doesn't classify it as being a completed mission. I could be wrong though; I think I need someone to verify that for me. icon14.gif

Wow I never knew you can kill the people with silenced pistol without alerting the cops, I knew that Silenced Pistol was silent but I thought GTA SA was a bit dodgy but they did it. Also, I never knew you have extra 5 minutes after the time ends to drive your loots to the lockup.

I think I will do some burgularly missions hehe biggrin.gif. Thanks for the tips! They are great cookie.gifcookie.gifcookie.gifcookie.gifcookie.gif

Introduction

I have always been a fan of the burglary missions and they are good fun, although some people don’t find them profitable enough. This is true enough as you can go out and kill a few drug dealers and make more money that way. I have decided to write this tutorial to allow you to get the maximum profits from your burglaries.

Main Points

Where to start

Each city has only one van that you can use for burglary missions. Below is the map showing where each van is in each city.

user posted image

Where to hit

The best places to hit are big houses, such as the mansions in Vinewood. This allows you to get a lot more out of one house and saves you wasting valuable time driving around looking for another open house. Although the mansions can sometimes cost you time due to there size and due to the wide scatter of items. You may find your self better hitting the more up-market looking houses such as the ones just off the beach in Los Santos, as these housed have more items than houses in poverty areas like Ganton, and are quicker to walk around than the large mansions of Vinewood.

Where to finish

As each city only has one van you can use, each city also only has one lockup t take the stolen items to. Below is the map showing the lockups in each city. As you will see in San Fierro and Los Venturas the lockup is beside where you got the van to start the missions, although in Los Santos the lockup is further away.

Tips

Moving around faster

Even though you are in sneak mode, you still make noise and cannot move too fast. If you simply press the crouch button, then you may move at the full speed allowed when crouched and will not make a bit of noise. Although should you walk into an item or through a door the noise lever will go very high, so it is best to slow down a bit when navigating corners or furniture and walking through doors.

Get out faster

Once you pick up an item instead of slowly sneaking out the door with it, you can simple make a run for it, as long as you get out side before the counter for the cops counter reaches zero. After you are out side and put the stolen item in the van, you can re-enter the house and proceed with your burglary.

Don’t worry about noise

Before starting your mission, head over to ammunition and buy the silenced pistol (the silenced pistol is not instantly accessible, you must unlock it in a mission). Then when you enter the house you may sneak into the bedroom where the occupant is sleeping and take your time to aim perfectly for the head shot, and kill them. No cops will be called, and you me then walk around the house and do your burglary with not disturbances.

Be ready to go

Instead of heading over and getting your burglary van as 8pm when you may start the mission, go over early and take the van. You may then drive to a good destination where you can have a choice of a few houses to burgle as soon at the time hits 8pm.

No rush back

As you see the time till daylight count down, you may think you have to be back at the lockup before the end of it. But you don’t, you get an extra five minutes to make your way back to the lockup to off load after daylight. So you may use every last second you have.

Don’t be picky

Since every item is worth the same about of money, you do not have to be picky what you steel, such as a low-end video recorder will get just as much as a high-end games consol.

Burgle the same houses

When you are choosing what house to rob, you can find two together and part your van in between. Then you may burgle one house, move on to the next, and then return to the first house as all items will have been restored. One place which is good for this is the apartment’s just round from the low rider mod garage.

This tutorial has not been placed up at the "Guides & walkthroughs" at the top of each page... biggrin.gif

thanks dude

Your Joking or is something wrong with your Monitor. the ambiant light is just the same as any other in the game. Those goggles are just a gag in the game play. You should turn up the Brightness or adjust the Contrast if you have a problem seeing.

You bumped a 1 year old topic to tell us this, nice going dumbass .

If Red Forman says so you better believe it...or he'll shove his foot up your ass

Update: Do the mission early in game.

Get the Van. Park on the corner of the street where Big Smoke lives.

The Corner house has three items to steal.

Park close to it.

Use 'sneak' mode to move quickly to the items.

The Radio is right by the door, get it first.

Move to the TV set and get it second.

Go for the VCR next.

Watch the 'noise meter' don't trip the arlarm if you can.

After getting these three item (or tripping the alarm) go to the next house.

Get One item the TV.

Return to the Corner house and get its three item, and go back for the one in the other house.

Keep rotating between the houses

You should be able to get the 10,000$ in one night of this mission, without hassles.

As the cost of items is the same there is no need to travel to 'rich' neighbour hoods.

If you like taking the time to explore do any any house you can.

Yes it does. It almost makes the Collection of the Gang Tags, Snap-Shots, and Horseshoes fun.

I tried the other method of Snatch and grab doing the Burglaries and found it is working on the PC (It didn't work well on the PS2, for me anyway.)

I parked by the corneer house. Endered moved quickly in Crouch mode to the TV. I Grabbed it and ran to the door setting off the alarm. After putting it in the truck I went back to the same house and found the alarm had reset. Moved to the VCR grabbed it and ran to the door. Repeated with the BOOM-Box, then went to get the TV from next dor and then back to the corner house.

Grabbing and Running without care of sneaking. It worked. I cleared 30,000$ in one night.

This is what i do; i get a weapon that kills in one shot (desert eagle, shotgun, etc.), enter the house, sneak into the owner(s)' room, and kill them. This gives a countdown. I quickly get something near the exit of the house (usually) a TV), and quickly exit the house. I put the good i have snatched into the truck, then go back and be free of alarms. I did try the method of using the silence pistol, but sometimes i miss and that is a real bummer. I prefer my way also because its more violent tounge.gif

It's back?

I know it has been over a year since this topic died, but I have gotten it unlocked and updated the tutorial with some information posted by other forumers as well as new maps showing where the vans and lock-ups are.

Thanks to everyone who has posted in this topic. I am glad so many of you found my tutorial helpful.

Over the next few days I am going to be reading through the suggestions posted by other forumers in this topic, and trying them out to see wither to add them to the tutorial or not.

If you have any suggestions or think I've missed something in the tutorial, please let me know.

This topic seems to be made immortal, they have sort of pinned it, placed it in the line of topics always visible.

I think the easiest place to make over 40 robberies in one night is in East Los Flores, see map:

There are a large number of homes grouped together and you'll always find some open doors. Aim for the south-eastern houses in the red circle first, you never find gang members in them. Other homes inside the circle may have gang members, but not too often.

You only need two houses next door to each other.

The best are next to Big Smokes house.

The one on the West corner has three items, and one in the middle has two.

You park the truck with its back door near the corner house.

Then on the PC you can rush in grab the TV and run out.

Go back and grab the VCR and run out.

Go back and grab the Boom-Box and run out.

Run to the other house and grab the TV.

Go back to the corner house and repeat.

Ignore any occupants.

It doesn't take long to gather enough to earn 35,000$ in one night.

I found on the PS2 if the cops are called you have to go to the other house, but on the PC it resets on each trip back to the same house until you have stripped it.

Yes you only need two houses/apartments, but you depend on finding two near each other that are open. I find it easier where a large number of apartments are grouped on a small area. There are always two beside each other that are open.

I prefer a house with 3 items in the sitting room, I don't bother with the bedrooms because the distance is so long that the cops will come. I run all the time.

I take those three items, then I steal one item from the next home. Then I return to the first home and steal those three items again.

The reason why I tend to only steal one item from the second home, is that I usually can't park the van close enough to both doors. I don't want to take even one single step to drop the item, I want to drop the item from the doorstep.

Maybe the homes next to Big Smoke have the doors very near, I might try that next time. If I'm lucky and both are open through the night...

On my last raid (same place as on the map I posted) I got 51 items and earned 52010 dollars. smile.gif

I read someone have gotten 56 items in one night so I just need to practice a bit more.
