Notes: This is quite an easy mission once you use the right strategy. My advice is to head towards the coastline of San Fierro, go under the golden gate bridge and follow the coastline all the way to the corona and come the same way back with nearly 5 minutes to spare. On the PS2 I had loads of problems as I tried to fly in a straight line but it is quite hard because of the trees and various heights of the landscape. The above tips never fail.

Notes: A very tedious mission and only advise is to stay above the oncoming plane and when it's in sight quickly bank right round and keep your speed up to enter the corona. The rest of the mission is easy!

explanation: I dunno what is happening - the first time i played through this game i beat this mission on the 2nd round, the first i failed cause i was just getting the hang of it, messing around with the button configs etc, the 2nd round i did well and beat the other dude... now on my second time playing through the game, i cannot beat this goddamn mission... ive done it like 20 times and half of the time i get whooped, my score is about half of the other guys, the other times i do really good but he still beats me by 100-200 points... im pulling my f-ing hair out because of this... i have a few cheats enabled with pizzadox's trainer, but they shouldnt affect anything - ive even tried using different lowriders like the remington and tornado - also do you get better results if you keep your hydraulics up during the competition? or does it work better to keep them down? anyway i'll keep plugging away at this, im sure i'll get it tonight around 2 am, if someone gets around to beating this for me, great - if not, thats ok too... thanks

i knew it - after i posted my save game, i loaded up SA again a few hours later, did a couple other missions, went back and tried the Cesar mission, and beat it first time... the game says listen to the music to know the best time to hit the hydraulics but i hit the button as soon as the arrow passes through the middle of the circle on its way out, and i beat the guy by like 400 points, messed up... sorry to anyone who passed the mission for me, thanks anyway...

I see that many people have found this useful so I'm going to give this a try. I am having a lot trouble passing Vertical Bird even though my flight skills are high. Perhaps I'm just not fast enough and my PC controls are not optimized for flying. Anyway, if someone can help me, that'll be highly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

Although I usually don't say it, but the difficulty of this mission escapes me totally. You just need to drive, not even fast. I just purposely tried to drive very very carefully, and still got nearly a minute left on the clock. Maybe it's some glitch. Oh well..

Thanks, I think it may be the speed of my computer, because during gameplay the clocks run at regular speed, but i can tell the screen is not showing the same progress especially at high speeds, or when I use nitro- My computer is not fast, which leads me to think there is an issue with that (highway cars are jerky, while the clock runs fine)

Yes, that must be it. There is definitely an issue with PC performance and some timer-based missions. Personally, I run all timed missions with Frame Limiter turned OFF as it seems to speed up performance. On the other hand, all rythm based missions (i.e. dancing) are better off with frame limiter turned ON.
