R* is definitely interested in feedback (going by their list of fav GTA web sites in the back of the guide book), so be nice, be patient, read the forums for possible fixes, and in a month or sooner there will probably be a patch released. Players who bought the game on its release date aren't brainless; they're just fans of the previous games and have waited six months after the PS2 release for the PC version. I bought it a few days after the release date because I wanted to play and enjoy it. I expected some technical issues but it seems to run as well as I expected, with the visual fx setting on Low of course The sound problems I had were fixed by lowering the dxdiag sound acceleration setting (though the environmental sound effects disappeared for a short while, but then returned). Agent00abe Posted June 19, 2005 Share Posted June 19, 2005 OMG _Looney_ did ur mother drop u on the floor everytime she threw u up in the air to put u in ur 9metres high bed? or are u just old fashion stupid? can't u just live with the fact that som ppl like GTA and have played it since the first (mayb even the best) GTA was released back in the days? we enjoy playing GTA and we are gracefull towards R* n Take2 for the game. so ofcourse we buy the game as soon as possible, and the sooner the game is bought, played and bugged, we can e-mail and/or call the supporters 2 tell them bout the bugs so they can fix it... we had 2 wait half an year before the game hit the pc. and i'm glad i waited, my cousin has the PS2 version and when i saw it i almost sh*t my pants cuz the graphics being worse than VC(PS2). Old School Hustla Posted June 19, 2005 Share Posted June 19, 2005 The PC version has clearly been rushed out the door without being really gone over with a fine tooth comb. There can't be much debate about that. My computer is just a few months old and though not the envy of NASA or anything, it's effective. To be honest the PC game has nothing on the PS2 version so far. Yeah I like the sharper overall look of the graphics (unless your running, or it's raining, or you're among several people or cars, etc. Then it's just as choppy.) But other than the "Hot Chocolate" Mod there isn't anything to get excited about...yet. In 6 months, after the modding community has completely torn this thing apart is when we'll get the real value out of the PC game. Rock* is probably betting on it, that's why they really don't care much about the current product. Why waste R&D man hours when the modders live for this? I suggest we all contact the maker of the game, the guys who took our $50 and left us with what seems like an alpha version of the game I've been dying to play for the past few months. IF we didn't complain how would R* and Take2 know bout the bugs? cuz they didn't afla/beta test the game prop. What kind of excuse is there to publish a game that is filled with bugs cuz they didn't want 2 use more time testing it..? u wouldn't go 2 a cardealer and exspect the new car 2 have 2 flat tires..! and a broken cylinder... if u go 2 a McD or Burger King u wouldn't exspect the burger 2 be only half fried...
