z00t
Look, Im a big fan of all things GTA [i've owned them all], and Im not doing this to start a flame war, but this PCversion of GTASA is pretty damn buggy [not to mention all the bugs in the PS2 version-anyone up for a game of basketball..nevermind, someone stole the ball]. Tell Rockstar your pissed [read as "angry" for our european and friends from down under]. post here if you want, BUT DEFINATLY CONTACT ROCKSTAR DIRECTLY. for rockstar usa 1-866-405-5464 [email protected] for take 2 usa: 1-866-219-9839 u[email protected] contact both--MULTIPLE TIMES let them know you want a patch and you want it NOW [especially if it is the sound bug related to rain or multiple SFX "voices"] my advice is be polite about it, the guy answering the phone or email is more likely to pass it up the chain to those who actually fix the problems...but hey. you dont have to follow my advice. Maybe a few angry responses will get them moving faster-who knows... Dont be one of those people who just puts up with this kind of crap. Ask yourself...What would CJ do? uhh...wait...no violence. Im not suggesting violence, just tell them they screwed up, and stand up for what you paid for. The more who do, the faster it will get fixed! z00t Edited June 13, 2005 by z00t
Overture
Mate, I contacted the support 4 days ago. The reply had a header which read In response to matter 583260 So yes. I'd say people have already told them. You know what they told me? Upgrade drivers, drop audio accelleration level. Didn't work, and they refuse to admit the problem is theirs. So, violence could be an issue. In the meantime, this is where we all come after we get the brush-off from take-2. Hell, we have to fix it, or wait for them to do it, which could be another month away. We can't have an unplayable game until then I do understand the point tho. Speak to take-2 support and r* first. I agree that rockstar could take a month, my real point was, and is, that those who havent yet contacted them, please do, because as I said the more the better. DO AS OVERTURE DID, CONTACT ROCKSTAR. even if you get the canned answer, keep contacting them. I have 3 times tonight already, but just because Im all liquored up ,have no game to play, and I have an unhealthy fixation on playing GTASA. when they start paying their customer service guys overtime to reply to all these emails [yeah right ] then they might take it more seriously than they did the PS2 bugs. just a thought, take it for what it is worth

randallman
What is rockstar's support address? I suppose I could root around thier site, but I'm at work right now and don't have that kinda time on my hands.
DirtyShady
I want a patch to fix black screen instead of movie Intro and I think it's still possible to optimise framerate.
worchyld
In the manual it says to contact Take2. Don't Take2 own Rockstar? That's who I sent my complaint too. I am selling my copy of GTA:SA... but I won't be able to find anybody to buy it from me for the same price I bought it at though (£25 UKGBP) ... that's how pissed I am at it. Manji
I think, in the long run, they don't give a crap about complaints because we bought the game so their "role" is fulfilled. The solution is boycott. And they wonder why people use p2p and bt to leech software....
DaLion
yeah good idea, first i want a patch for game crash when go in "advanced option" of video settings 2. a patch for sound problems 3. a patch for save bug 4. and a patch for bug who appears during game. Bugs ?? They arent bugs with the game. 1) The crash, contact RockStar with your dxdiag, they will fix you up. 2) Sound Problems. There is quite a few fix's for this one floating around. 3) Patch for the save bug. The "bug" is because of the way windows assigns windows usernames. 4) See point #
z00t
First the rockstar contact info: for usa 1-866-405-5464 [email protected] for take 2: 1-866-219-9839 [email protected] contact both--MULTIPLE TIMES as to the idea this game is not bugged...ridiculous! just because it doesnt effect you doesnt mean it is not a bug. the fixes you mention are floating around -crap- I have tried them all and they dont work for me. frankly i think that most of those people who say those fixes helped them just havent tested the problem in rain or with enough SFX "voices' going simultaneously. and before you start flaming me, I'm not a computer retard, I build computers and provide phone support for a living, so dont tell me to upgrade my DX or drivers, or try fixes that (while they may work for some) dont work for me. this is bugged, and your uninformed opinion wont make it any different
Losik
DaLion Hey, man! f*ck you! There are bugz in the game, you motherf*cker.. First bug is R* programming for Radeon... so it follows: * trees and bushes just show up like a prick in front of your eyes in the middle of the wood... They have no memmory in wood, to show them faster?! * black road in country side - this bug shows only in my Radeon 9250 card. Other Radeon 9600XT hasn't this bug... * there has to be no problems with any audio/video like it was with Vice City... Vice was running great with no patches, man.. * Glitches on textures... Some rocks are blinking at the large distance. * f*cking NVidia logo... and no respect for other popular videocards... The whole range of 9000/9100/9200/9250/9300/9500 series are f*cked out with bugz. Vice was perfect even for my Radeon, ya bitch.. * Textures of people just disappearing. I perfectly know there is solution for that, but some other games didn't work with old driver 4.9. THAT'S THE MAIN PROBLEM * FPS so slow when turning into Medium (shadow enabled) mode! Even on Radeon 9600XT, which perfectly handles optimized for it games. This card has higher than medium level of all cards and that's thanks from R*. * What an owfull water. I almost can't see anything through it. It is no, hell, so bright as Vice City's... and no waves... sh*t... * When entering GYM in Los Santos you can see no trees/buildings in the camera angel view.. Only one f*cken leaf.. * In gym there is colored weights. I just doing some muscles with WHITE colored weight! Man... * When there is only one door for restourant in, you step inside it and when you want to go out, you can see typical 2-doors wayout! Damn.. * Glitches with rain sound * Restarts in game... * Compatibly Win98 mode sets * Deleting sets file.... ALL THAT COULD BE FIXED IF ONLY R* COULD TEST GAME BEFORE RELEASE IT, AND NOT LOOKING AT THEIR MONEY! Some bad words, which are heared in GTA:San Andreas had an detail learning and were placed into this text. Never talk the way like that, but if R* can, I can... All adressed to them.. 4normalLife, nigga! CJ is our High-FPS killa, 'cuz this is what the repers are singing alon', yuppey yey, yuppey yo... xmas
Here's the address for Europe, Australia, and New Zealand [email protected] I've got the black textures problem, so I took screenshots and emailed it off to them, then I came looking for this forum. No reply, obviously. Because I haven't posted much here before here's my specs: ECS AF1 Deluxe Mobo Athlon XP 2600 (Barton) 768MB RAM GeForce 6600 GT AGP 128MB(driver v. 71.89) Integrated CMedia CMI9739A sound chip (driver v. 5.12.01.0041.3 (39b) ) Lite-On SOHC-5232K 52x32x52 DVDROM/CDRW drive Once gain, the only real issue I get is the black textures bug, nothing else. Although I think my framerate could be a little higher, and godamn do I wish I could disable the rain effects.

Overture
Hey Zoot - for what it's worth, after I fixed my problems with the audio I specifically got into rain and then threw some molitovs into a crowded intersection of cars and peds. That should be more voices than normal I'd imaging, and didn't have any problems. I'm not stupid either, you know
z00t
no one is saying your stupid overture, I just keep pointing out the SFX "voices" thing because some may not be aware that may cause the problem -hell I didnt even notice I had the bug til I was playing for a whole day. anyway - not saying your stupid, its just that the fixes dont work for me and it is really fXXking annoying that I cant play.... speaking of which, since you fixed your problem why arent you out picking up hookers right now? Overture
Yeah, it's all good. Truth is I'm in the middle of my exams, so rather than play the game, which would be irresponsible, I'm just trying to help others be able to play.
worchyld
I got a reply from Take2 - and they stated that "It was too early to tell whether the game has lots of bugs"... the gaul! They said to update my ATI drivers which are from 2004 - despite the fact the game works flawlessly on my machine with SP1. Screw this, I'm selling my game - this whole episode reminds me of "Chris Sawyer's Locomotion" - which was meant to be the new fangled version of Transport Tycoon Deluxe - but ended up being a half finished game with wierd pathfinding bugs and stupid idiocies that made it worse than the original Transport Tycoon (not deluxe). My machine specs are: AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3000+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.0GHZ, 1024MB DDR Ram, Radeon X800XT Platinum Edition, Windows XP Pro SP-

theunseen
i wrote I, along with MANY other people, want a patch for grand theft auto san andreas regarding the crashes, blue screens, rain problems, and other graphic glitches. shibbybmxboy
sh*t guys the game came out SEVEN DAYS AGO... its not easy to make a f*cking patch... calm down... its gonna take atleast a few weeks for them to fix these problems... dont expect them to magically fix everything less than a week after they find out about it. z00t
DOnt be a rockstar suckup! I could give a sh*t how long it takes {although I know valve had patches within 3 days of HL (original) coming out way back} it shouldn't even need one if they did it right. and youre right, if we all had "FxxK me please" signs on our backs like you want us to they would never make a patch because they wouldnt have to, we would all just roll over for them. FxxK THAT! They owe us a patch, and the more people who stand up and say so the faster we'll get it. on a personal note-nothing personal to you, but if you had been through everything I had to fix this bug and it was still happening to you you would be yelling at people too. SWEAR TO GOD, THE ONLY THING I HAVENT DONE IS GET A NEW SOUND CARD, BUT SINCE AUDIGY USERS ARE SAYING THEY HAVE THE BUG TOO THAT PROBABLY WOULDN'T FIX IT AND I WOULD BE OUT ANOTHER 100 BUCK FOR A 50 Dollar GAME. SyphonPayne
Well I must say I got my copy of SA PC today, and it's almost flawless. No save bug (my My Documents folder even has a period in it.) no sound bug, no nothing. Only thing that bugs me a little is a few slowdowns when there's a lot going on. I know it's not my pc because I can run Half-Life 2, Far Cry, UT2004 and more at maximum settings with no problems. But it's great anyway.
