krnjun
I also have the PS2 version and it gets cleaned from rain, Transfenders and Pay n Spray. Don't know what your talking about.
Knife
In the PC versions cars didn't get cleaned. They only get cleaned with the 1.01 patch
Mike0
Cleaning cars only works on the patched version of the game. 1.01 VERSION. That's all I have to say. It DOESNT WORK IN 1.00. SO IT IS PATCHED IN 1.
grand_theft_princess
Is it possible to get rid of the dirt on the cars in Version 2? It's annoying me to no end.
krnjun
I think you'll have to wait until it rains or paint it with a different color. I, currently own the first version for Playstation 2. Rain and paint always works in the first version. Don't know about the version 2. Hope this helps a little.
spaceeinstein
Remember to set FX quality to medium or higher for this to work.
Destruction-Overdrive
i donwgraded so i can use cool mods and stuff but it also makes the cars forever dirty. and the 1.01 patch doesnt work. i want to kno if anyone made something to fix this. also if there are any ways to have a clean car without it having a paintjob or being black. 'nother question. the 1.01 patch also stops hot coffee. so does it stop all mods aswell? just curious but that wont help me any

The more drastic mod protections didn't show up until v2.

Serious Dave
wen you say "patch doesnt work" are you talking about the dirt or the patch? you need to max out you 3d settings for the 1.01exe to clean cars (but you need a nvidia card to do that) the no dirt mod is for free a nvidia card is $200/$700 y you need to max out 3d settings i just dont no Edited March 8, 2006 by Serious Dave
gillies
(but you need a nvidia card to do that) Do you? (I have an Nvidia card myself, but it's a bit surprising if it only works on their stuff). y you need to max out 3d settings i just dont no The cars cleanness status gets changed quite often so they probably use this setting to determine whether it is possible to update all the cars e.g. when it rains the cars in the area all have to get cleaned. Serious Dave
look at the back of the box...gtasa was made for nvidia and alienware and all i have is a crapy COMPAQ Presario 6000 6430NX that has a old ATI 9200 card in it ok im off subject sorry and its just 12 cars in a area....how much 3d ram do you need for that? not much if R* made the game right Edited March 8, 2006 by Serious Dave
gillies
look at the back of the box...gtasa was made for nvidia and alienware I don't think that really mean a whole lot though, it's just marketing stuff so they earn more money by pimping some other company's product at the same time (interestingly supposedly a number of TWIMTBP games run better on ATI stuff but usually the differences are pretty minor like comparing games that don't endorse a particular brand of video cards). Crome_Pheonix
I have the xbox version and every car has dirt on the sides and I hate when I mod a nice car but it comes out all rusty . So is there any way to get the dirt 2 go away?
blindsk8er6d9
Search dude. I think this has been talked about a bunch of times. I think you just spray it. Try putting it in your garage, although I am not positive about that.
gta_player5
No not with the xbox version. On PC or PS2 if it rains the dirt will be washed off, but not with the Xbox San Andreas. There are no cheats to use, and putting in your garage/pay 'n' spray doesn't work. It will always be on the side of the car. Sorry -GTAP-
Streamer
There's a PC modiication you can download which makes your car look much cleaner and gets rid of that ugly grime looking rust on the side-skirts of cars. However, unfortunately there is no way of getting rid of it on both the Xbox and PS2 versions of the game. The nearest to getting your car looking "clean" would be to enter a Pay'n'Spray or another place of the sort, and give it an all-round black paintjob. And since the grime and dirt on cars is black, the paintjob covers it up leaving it looking clean. That's a plus if you're fond of black cars (like I am), too. Id better stop im confusing myself and most likely....others It is technically possible to mod the xbox version if your xbox itself is either chipped or softmodded, but it's hardly worth the trouble for the average person. Since this bug is in the game engine itself, the only thing you could actually do is use the "no rust/no dirt" mod, but you might run into format incompatibilities you'd have to remedy. Xbox version 2 may have fixed the problem, but as others have said, you just have to live with it on version 1.

Mainland Marauder
I had a dirty sanchez once, it was embarrasing. Um, that's your thing, but that has nothing to do with SA. Nothing at all. Mainland Marauder
Yeah, the dirty sanchez sure was an eyesore. You should keep it on the pavement and not ride it through the dirt and sand then. Then your Sanchez won't get dirty. Back on topic here...I never knew if what you see by the wheels was supposed to be dirt or some sort of damage from crashing into things. GlockWorkz
I had a dirty sanchez once, it was embarrasing. Haha, he had a sex position. I know, for the PS2 version for me, I just paint it. I know how much you hate the dirt, because when I have a good car, it always gets dirty (I offroad a lot.)

koen47
Yeah, they do. Like I said, I was roaming the woods, and I came to the cabin. METAShift
I just started playing SA again, but for some reason the dirty cars annoy me now, I have some of my favourite cars with dirty roofs and sides and whatever, and there is no way to get rid of it. Any mod or anything I can use? I know the patch does it but I don't want to install it, so I was wondering if there was a user made mod to make all cars clean or at least get clean on respray.
