"Freefall" Mission on PC

I'm trying to complete the Freefall mission, and it's really pissing me off. I read the walkthrough at gtasanandreas.net and it says that "the plane is actually stopped in mid-air." Well either the person who made that guide is a liar or Rockstar changed something in the PC version to make the plane go somewhere. So now, I not only have to catch the plane, but I also have to be freaking lucky because the dodo is slow as hell! I know there is not much you can do, but can someone help me here? Why do they always include missions like this that f**k with you?

Ok, I know i've already passed this mission for you. But here's how i do it...and its worked every time.

You need to go through the red thing at the back of the plane, start turning...as soon as you see the plane...then by the time you've turned around you should be just at the back of the plane, and it should be easy to catch up with it.

Worked everytime for me.
