Skeeter
Hi i have AMD - XP 1900+ Soundblaster live 5.1 OEM 768 ddr ram geforce 4 ti 4200 64ddr I installed the game and during the intro i get crackling sound when someone speaks and during gameplay when near cars. Anyone know how to fix this? I have tryedd updated all drivers i have tryed lowering acceleration of sound to none, but none of that worked. I even tryed compatability mode. Still nothing. Please help... its a bit like a rattling/crackling sound over the sounds in the game. Testing if it was my speakers but winamp and other games sounds fine its just gta sa. TexasWilly
Hey, I have the same problem, what sound card and speakers do you have? I have a Realtek ALC880D 7.1 Soundcard which is onboard a DFI LanParty Motherboard and I have Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Speakers (I Know I'm a spoiled bastard ). I have the R1.20 Drivers and I'm updating them to R1.21 right now, what version do you have? PamBoobie
Skeeter
As i have said in my original post. I have a soundblaster live 5.1 soundcard and i just hook it up to my panasonic hi-fi as i like the bass on it and there good speakers, although a bit old. Skeeter
ITS WORKING NOW!!! Ok right what i did to get it make sure u install AudioHQ as u need it and the stuff for to get AUTO Eax the option in Audio HQ so mainly do a full install from soundblaster cd. Next is Use AutoEax option "in" AudioHQ. And then in AutoEax u need to point to the GTA SA.exe and then make it 2 speakers and the last option is for "no effects" or "play eax game but disable eax". If u have a 5.1 speaker setup u can use that it should work as well. Next u right click on the GTA SA shortcut and make it compatible for win 98/me, you also need to use the sound acceleration to basic and that should make the game a bit smoother. And thats about it. Hope it helps with others. As this is being driving me nuts for days. Oh and not sure but in AutoEAX click on the options tab and move slider to medium sensativity and all three boxes ticked. EDIT - about the slider i tryed different settings it doesnt effect it much. Right now im off to play gta sa with perfect sound now peace my brothers... z00t
where exactly in audio HQ are you finding "autoeax" Ive just installed the latest version of audioHQ and I only see 5 icons in it mixer speakers soundfont keyboard eax control panel [which I assumed it would be i, but I cant find it] also, have you been in rain/thunder since you fixed the problem? is it still fixed in the rain/thunder? Skeeter
Well i installed just from the cd i got with the soundcard as newer drivers didnt work or have that i think "autoeax i mean". So if you can just install "full install" of all things off ur driver cd and you "should" see AutoEAX in there as well with the other 5 things u mentioned. If you cant get it to appear ask www.creative.com about how to get it to show. As far as i know it should fix any rain faults you have. I would be surprised if it doesnt. As my sound is perfect now. z00t
ill try the cd, but I should mention...even in a game where the rain makes my sound buggy, if I wait until the rain stops my audio is perfect too, but if the rain comes back so does the problem. all this without starting the game [although restarting it doesnt change anything--Ive tried it]
Skeeter
No harm in trying and you can always go back to your newer drivers if the ones off your install cd dont work. But if you try the autoeax method it cleared up my problem and i tryed everything. It was a miricle lol. Perhaps for you too?
