bishman82
I was expecting the worst when i read about people not liking the new control system in SA but after trying the game out myself i think they are much better than vice city!!! i'm using a gamepad similar to the ps2 + mouse (scroll - change weapon & middle button run) and i can see why the new system is needed for this game when i got to certain missions. If you did have the same control system as VC i think some of the missions would be a lot harder to complete, they are a little more complicated but allow you to have better control over the game. pilzner
I play with Keyboard+mouse with mouse steering off, and I love the new controls. The vehicles are more PC-Like now - I can't remember the last game that didnt allow mouselook while in a vehicle. Also, while on foot, the ability to walk forward and look at a right angle (using 'A' or 'D') is great. It took about 4 minutes to get the hang of and it certainly isnt "conventional" PC controls, but its great for getting a look at storefronts/streets while staying on the sidewalk. Paul (The Cheater)
I can't seem to get the right combination. The mouse seems easier for directing CJ while fighting but it THEN means I need to be holding the controller (Logitech dual action) and the mouse while driving. Just using the controller for fighting is not easy. I can't get CJ to face the correct way.
tombcatz
i really like the controls of GTA:SA they are much better then GTA3`s and VC`s controls... the ability to have a "free camera" while driving is awesome, and the new gun aiming system truley owns. even though i like the new controls, there are few things that are quite f*cked: -why the heck did they choose to "2" button for sub-missions?! -why the heck did they choose the "caps lock" button for horn, its really uncomfortable. and...ummm...thats all. Chunky Lee Chong
I actually liked the controls in San Andreas because I felt as if I had more control over what was going on, which was a larger step up from Vice City. But, what amazes me is how they managed to pack all the controls in when it felt as if they had reached the limit in Vice City.

jools1980
[snip] -why the heck did they choose to "2" button for sub-missions?! -why the heck did they choose the "caps lock" button for horn, its really uncomfortable. and...ummm...thats all. Prolly, because they are easily rechable if you already have your hand on the WASD group.
gta_king
Only problem I have is having to hold the right mouse button to aim with normal guns, it'd be a lot better if we had the crosshair in the middle of the screen and maybe had to hold it to aim with the weapons such as the rocket launcher, thats my only complaint. :: <')))>(
