Mario
I know this isn't about a PC, but there isn't a Playstation Chat so cut me some slack. I got my hands on one of these Playstation 2 thins, and it works fine except the power button is 'stuck'. I push the proper green labeled power button, and simply nothing happens. It's obvious by how hard I have to push to even get the button to sink into the console that it's stuck. Has anyone else had this problem, heard about this problem, or know how to fix this problem? Any help is welcomed and appreciated. Thanks.
GTA3Rockstar
Should be in Gaming Chat... I only way you can probably fix it is by unscrewing it and reposition it back in its original state, other than that I have no clue... Sorry
Dalpura
I've never actually seen a slim line PS2, other than on TV so I've got no idea at all how they're constructed. I'd think your best bet would be to either pull it apart, and see what the problem is, or just poke and poke the button and hope it becomes unstuck. Often with some buttons, they can just get stuck, but a bit of force fixes them. My old N64 controller knew that well. So yeah, either of those. When Opius shows up, he'd probably know how they're assembled to tell you exactly what to do (I could only find assembly instructions for the original PS2). Good luck to you Marion. Or you could always take it to a video game shop or PS2 distributor type person, and get them too. But that would obviously cost money, doing it yourself voids the warranty, but who needs that anyway?
AZAZEL
The button doesn't actually 'sink into the console', it just moves in like a millimeter. If the PSTwo doesn't power on, it's probably your power adapter that's borked - mine was. Went down where I bought the PSTwo and got the power adapter replaced. ~az
Opius
Well, I'm not actually sure how the power button mechanism dealy works on the slimline, but I can have a look tomorow. You might just want to send me a PM in case I forget.
Taxman
Well, is the little red light on on the power button? That'll confirm power is flowing. If not, try flipping the switch on the back. If it IS on, and your pushing isn't working....then it's broken. Remember, opening your PSTwo will void your warranty.
