SoulSlinger
I had the exact same problem. Fixed it by running the gam in win98 compatibility mode to do this youmust edit the properties of the GTA sortcut, choose the compatibility tab an set it to win 98, simps you had an entirely different problem. This is an issue with both VC and SA and can be fixed by setting the compatibility mode Edited June 20, 2005 by SoulSlinger
simps
I had this problem and I posted the easy solution in one of these topics, but i can't seem to find it now so I'll just re-type it. This normally happens to me when i go to the pause menu, I can't move Tommy's direction around or change his weapons using the mouse. Just go back to the pause menu and move your mouse around. Then go back in-game and move your mouse around. If that doesn't work, do it again. Normally, if it doesn't work the first time, one more time should do it. 91Sisezct
I to have a Logitech USB cordless mouse, I also have the same problem you described. But there are other problems while playing the game. While shooting at someone, I cant target an opponent and have CJ automatically shoot. I can get the green arrow over a person, but when I hit the fire button he just shoots in the direction he is facing. In order to shoot someone I have to manually target someone with the right mouse button. ALso the molotive cocktail mission, I cannot hold down the fire button to increase the distance of the throw. As soon as I press the LMB, CJ releases the cocktail. I usually end up in flames I've tried holding down the button, but there is no change. I think it might be a problem with the USB controllers... I tried installing my cordless wingman, which doesnt work either. When I load up the game the screen just spins in circles. If I load up the game without the wingman configured but just the USB controller for the wingman hooked up it causes the screen to move to the right. Every time you target someone to shoot, or get into a car, the screen goes to the right. I ended up removing the USB controller and the mouse look has been alright. I am now stumped at these mouse problems. Is there anything I can do besides getting a new mouse? Chris
Terransheep
"The problem is easily fixed by running gta in win98 compatibility mode, to do this, creat a sortcut to the gta-vc.exe on the desktop if you dont have one already. Right click the shortcut and choose properties, then choose the compatibility tab from the top and select win98 compatibility mode. Note that you must use this shortcut to run the game. This trick also fixes the same problem in GTA-SA as well as VC" quote from Soulslinger
91Sisezct
Actually running GTA: SA in WIN 98 mode has not changed anything. I still have to manually target people, and I cannot hold down the RMB to throw molotive cocktails further... Hopefully they will come out with a patch that fixes this. Justin
I still have to manually target people, and I cannot hold down the RMB to throw molotive cocktails further Are you using a trainer or mods of any sort? I ran into similar problems in GTA3, using the 'admin console' trainer. It stuffed up the weapon use. So yeah, try without mods/trainers of any sort. Also on topic, make sure to update your video and sound drivers, and get the lastest version of Direct X.
Johny1986
I heard you've got to press Alt + Tab so you switch back to windows, and then continue the game. But I don't know if that really works
