pixelrage
I just bought the game this afternoon. I like it a lot, but I was very disappointed in the fact that Rockstar seems to have changed the driving controls entirely...I'm using a Logitech gamepad, and have been playing Vice City ever since it came out for the PC. I played GTA:SA this afternoon for a good 4-5 hours and I'm still nowhere near getting used to the way the camera works -- unlike with Vice City, the joystick on my gamepad controls both the steering and the camera, and it makes things impossible in some cases. Either there's some setting I have to turn on or off....or this is it, and I have to get used to it?? (please tell me the 2nd part isnt the case!!) The camera completely flips out whenever you make a turn in a vehicle, usually putting the camera directly on the floor behind the rear bumper and looking up. It's so frustrating...I've tried all the camera modes, nothing helps.
Sillyhed2000
I'm not sure how redefining the gamepad works, but I'm assuming you can. Have you made sure that the directions on your joystick aren't binded to two controls at once?
balla45
It's A LOT different, but after playing the game for a couple of days I'm getting used to it. I'm sure you will too..
blue_steel
Im having the same problem, or I shoul say "had" the same problems, im getting very much use to it but im still finding it a bit difficult. But my #1 priority now is to find the 100th tag. Just like in the PS2, Ive marked them all off the map but im still missing one.
Umbrae
It is very differnt, but my problem is not with driving. I got used to that quickly, and actualy tend to like SA style better (I use keyboard+mouse). But for the flight controlls I am doing terribly. I do not have 3 hands. You need to controll trottle, and rudder, 1 hand. basic pitch and yaw, 1 hand. now the camera too. . . That first RC plane mission from zero I have redifined my controlls 5 or so times, but cannot find a config that will allow me to fly for @%!#. (although I stole a heli. They are not to hard to fly)
Sidewinder8
I didnt even notice the difference between the driving controls. I guess that means it didnt take me that long to get used to it.
High Voltage
About flying, what is the control for getting the plane wheels up?
