Game won't install

Hello,

I recently bought GTA:SA for PC and have had trouble installing it. Whenever I click the 'Install Grand theft Auto: San Andreas' button, all I see is a 'Starting InstallShield Wizard' box that disappears after half a second, then nothing else happens.

 

Could anyone help me resolve this problem? Thankyou.

I have the same problem as well. I have emptied my temp files and updated my video card drivers. I even tried running the setup.exe file instead, but I still get the same problem. Please help I badly want to play this game.

Have you got any software installed that emulates optical drives? Alcohol, clonedvd/cd and blindread among a whole slew of others are blacklisted by securom v7.

 

Remove all traces of them. I don't know if the installer checks, I know the executable does.

 

Also, disconnect the net and disable virus scan.

 

Finally, try installing in safe mode.

 

What is the PC config and OS?

I ended up emailing take2 but still havn't received a response. Although I found another way to solve the problem. I installed the game on another computer and then transfered all the files over to mine, and it works fine. Maybe you could try that?
