nekkerbee
Has anyone fooled around with increasing the numbers of vehicles and pedestrians in the game? I was just about to start fiddling with popcycle.dat, but I was curious to know if anyone had tried to manipulate this data and encountered weird or adverse results. I was hoping to at least double the max number of cars during rush hour from 18 to 36 (or higher) to better simulate traffic jams/gridlock (I was hoping to have to drive a motorcycle through bumber-to-bumber traffic at some point.) Also, the number of peds seems kinda low (you'd think that Las Venturas at 8 pm would be jammed with tourists.) Anyway, I was about to make some tweaks but wondered if anyone had done so already, and had anything to report about it.
Umbrae
nope, but I would love to see how it works for you. I live near LA and often laugh at the "traffic" in this game.
santaclaws
up I haven't done any tweaks yet, but i'm also interested knowing how it works out for you. I'd like to see more vehicles in the game, but at the same time adding too many vehicles could have negative impact on gameplay. mcdrye
I went through the popcycle.dat and added a zero to the maximum no. of peds and cars for example I increased 10 to 100 in some places but it seemed to have no effect at all. I also increased streaming memory in the stream.ini file but this did not help either. Update: I wanted to see if popcycle.dat did have an effect on the amount on its own so I changed all the values to zero and it worked! It became a ghost town with no car or peds! Maybe the values should only be raised in moderation otherwise the game imposes its own limit in relation to your PC specs?
