Liftow Posted June 11, 2005 Share Posted June 11, 2005 As well as all the other bugs listed, audio and such, I seem to have one that I don't think anyone else has posted yet. After about three missions into the game, If I saved and then restarted later whenever I enter a red mission enter point the game crashes on the cutscene load screen. The words of the mission will appear, but my system freezes needing a hard boot. There is no notice in the load/save menu of a corrupt save file as others have mentioned, and I can enter other missions such as territory takeovers, girlfriend missions but, when I enter one of those red markers all freezes. This is somewhat sporadic as I've had long periods where the game ran fine (other than the audio cutting out, and the blue screen meltdowns.) If anyone has this or has fixed it, please help. This is like beta testing HL2 all over again. P4 Prescott 3.0ghz Raptor 40gig 10000rpm main WD 40gig 7200rpm secondary 1gig ram radeon 9600 soundblaster live 24 bit internal. Grombart Posted June 11, 2005 Share Posted June 11, 2005 i have the same problem here... after a crash to desktop while doing a mission it happened first to me... when i try to start a red mission the mission name appears and then the PC locks up... i "solved" (hahaha) it by trying to start the mission and rebooting the PC at least 10 times and suddenly it worked again... i changed nothing at the options and stuff... left everything like it was before... and it happens again now with other mission... didn't find a fix for this yet other than "try, reboot and do it all over again until it works"... my system: P4 2,6ghz 1,5gb ram radeon 9800 onboard sound (had a sound card before but that caused a lot of probs with the "hardware acceleration"-thingie) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Grombart Posted June 12, 2005 Share Posted June 12, 2005 maybe u'r just lucky and hit a few missions that aren't bugged...? the bug doesn't happen all the time for me too, sometimes all goes fine... well, but i thought about that too... as i said this bug first happened to me after a game crash, so maybe some files were damaged during that? happened with no other games though that files are corrupted if a game crashes (only when saving/loading but that's something different)... maybe i'll try and reinstall too but i think i'll first wait for the patch that i hope will come out this week... if that doesn't fix it, i hope the reinstall will...
