gta_sa.exe error after 10-15 seconds

It installed fine and the everything was working fine until i actually got into the game. After about 10 seconds the game crashes and a gta_sa.exe error box pops up. I tried lowering the graphics qualities etc but it still happens. It doesnt matter if i get on the bike at the start or run around or get in a car it still crashes. anyone know how to fix this??
