gta3 fo sho. It took a good idea, and revolutionized it. Along with the entire video game community. No doubt in my mind. All the others after it are just remakes with a touchup. All the games after it are not reaching their potential. GTA3 is the climax. Let's wait and see what ps3 or whatever has to do.

I voted GTA3, because it not only changed the GTA series, it changed the whole gaming scene.

Plus it has the most historic significance to me.

I say GTA3. I mean, it almost singlehandedly revolutionized the gaming era of our time. There had never been hype like that before. The controversy and gossip was intense. I remember the first tiem I heard about it in high school. They were explaining everything you could do and I couldn't wait to play it. Never had there been a game with such freedom, especially on a console.

Slick Willy

GTA3, just because it was the first to captivate me, I played that game for months on end. The story, the graphics, the openended play, the possbilities were endles. I loved that game. Vice came close because of the 80's atmosphere, the helicopters and of course the characters (makes me feel like playing again). San Andreas just over did it to me, the map is a little too big and there are a bit too many features. Don't get me wrong though, great game.

Technical Difficulty

Why is this in announcements? It's not really, erm, an announcement.

Anyways, I voted GTAIII.

GTA3.

I loved the style of the city, the radio, storyline. Everything about it.

I have to say San Andreas. I loved the wide open spaces and all of the detail added to the game

Knucklehead

I voted GTA: Vice City.

Rockstar captured everything about the 80's perfectly. It had the best atmosphere, music, and storyline. In GTA3 and San Andreas I constantly changed the radio stations to find something good, but in Vice City I could steal a car and leave the station to whatever it was tuned to and sing along, and the storyline was great. CJ was a pussy and Claude was alright, but Tommy didn't take sh*t from nobody, he ran things the way he saw fit.

I also played Vice City much longer than GTA3 after I beat it and the thing that keeps drawing me back to San Andreas is multiplayer and the new features.

GTA3 for all reasons mentioned above. It was just a revolution in gameplay and I was totally blown away. The other GTA's are great, yes, but GTA3 was really what started it all.

I voted San Andreas.

I love GTA because of the ability to go and explore areas when you want, and this has the largest and most varying landscape of all games to explore.

I voted for San Andreas. It had the longest gameplay time, the biggest map, and I really liked the kinda gangsta/homie feel.

GTA3Rockstar
It came close with SA and 3, so I picked SA... I would of picked GTA3 for the first GTA in 3D, but SA has more to offer in excitement and GTA3 was too easy and got boring after awhile, that is why I picked SA...

San andreas, because of the maps size and atmosphare and being able to climb and swim makes it feel more open too. (oh yeah and the motorway biggrin.gif )

It's Grand Theft Auto III hands down. I don't have the time it would take to describe just how much I love the game. For me, it all starts with Liberty City. Maybe it's because I'm originally from New York, but I love Liberty City. I love the different cultural sections of the city (Chinatown, St. Marks) and all of its other features. Liberty City had character a certain charcter that I think was somewhat lost when Rock* started being concerned about making a bigger map. Even as each subsequent game has gotten larger, they still haven't been able to portray the feeling that Liberty City gives you that you are just a small part of a huge community. In Vice it feels like you have such a huge effect on everything, whereas in III it feels like you haven't even scratched the surface.

Interacting with the gangs, and the variety of gangs and gang cars was great. The story was better than all of the others. I was actually sad about being double crossed by the mafia after all the fun missions I'd done for them. The story actually had me annoyed by certain characters and rooting on others. A few more positives about GTA III: karuma, diablo stallion, Hepburn Heights, guy in the trenchcoat with the drawing of a dick, cartel cruiser, getting a good time on the dodo, best voice acting cast of all the games in my opinion, Chatterbox, etc.

GTA3 becuase of the fact the story was the best, you get to know the characters extremely well, and it is the all round most enjoyable game to play.

I would have said GTA3 for its groundbreaking in the videogame genre, but I believe San Andreas has had a lot more success and is all around the door into the future of videogames.

As much as I enjoyed San Andreas, I can't seem to play it now I've completed it. Vice City however, seems to be just perfect...Hmm, hard to describe.

GTA 3. The transition form 2D to 3D turned a good game into a world beater. I doubt much more in this series will top it. Both SA and VC have layed new things on the table, but GTA 3 was original, something we haven't seen as much of from the sequels

I voted San Andreas. Although, I wasn't a fan of the gangsta rap atmosphere, I loved the depth and custimization.

Very hard to decide. GTA3 was probably the most amazing game experience I've had along with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, I had no expectations and was completley blown away.

San Andreas was a great game due to all the features, for example I love the planes, how high you can fly and the way you can just leap out and free fall for ages etc, and the size and diversity of the state is a major plus.

But by the end of it I had to vote for Vice City. The the whole 80's setting made it for me, I mean I just felt like I was there, Ray Liotta was awesome as Vercetti (I was gutted he didn't even cameo in SA) and Vice City it has the best soundtrack contributed to a video game ever... if you dissagree on that well then you should die.

GTA3 had the best city, storyline, radio station (chatterbox) and one of the best main characters.

No dough this post will get questions and and maybe even some fighting.

San Andreas has more than double the amount of votes Vice has? Jesus Christ.

GTA3 was my vote though, not only for the amazing and revolutionary game itself, but for the gaming experiences that helped shape the way I actually am now. God bless that game.

Vice City. It's the '80s in a video game. Sure, San Andreas recreated early '90s California very well, but for me, nothing will beat playing Vice City. I have all the GTA's except the first on Playstation, and the first on computer. The one I have played the most is Vice City. That says something. GTA3 was a revolution indeed, but Vice City just topped it off for me, with the few little things GTA3 lacked.
