I know he's had a couple of ford capri's, a couple of xr3i's, a couple of some sort of rover. Now the ones i can remember. Ford XR3i Ford KA (my mums. Ford Escort Van (my dads first work van.) LDV Cub (my dads second work van.) Ford Transit Connect (my dads third work van. He gets a new van every 3 years.) Vauxhall Astra (my mums current car. It was a very attractive car with dog sh*t brown paintwork and matching interior. It was a two door running a 1.6l motor and auto gearbox. They had the thing untill 1995 when they killed it permanently, it was given to some bloke who thought he could restore it. Their Second car was a 1978 Datsun 280C that they bought in 1983 it was a f*cking flash car back then, with electric everything, full leather and all the goodies. They had it untill 1986 when it was written off on an around Australia trip. My old man blew out a front tyre while overtaking on a gravel road at 120kph. the car slid into a ditch and rolled over several times before coming to a rest on its side against a telegraph pole. Lucky for them the old Dastsun was a f*cking strong car. Their Third car was a 1986 Ford Falcon which they bought in 1988. It was a top spec model having Electronic fuel injection, a 4.1l motor and an auto box. That was a great car, we crashed it about a dozen times including taking out a set of traffic lights, having a brick garage colapse on it and being rear ended by a stolen Porsche at 120kph, never managed to write it off though. We sold it for $900 back in 2001. Mums current car is a 1996 Holden Berlina which we bought in 2001. Its a great car and it has all the toys, electric everything, cloth interior, 3.8l V6 and Auto, trip computer, climate control and all that sh*t. That things taken us to Queensland and back with no drama. My current car is a 1971 Holden Kingswood wagon which I bought about a year ago. ITs a rusted out bomb and is too f*cked to repair. From when I was born until when I was about 4, we had an old white Kingswood wagon, that got sold. My memory fails me as to why. Then we had a brown Kingswood sedan that was a heap of sh*t and got given to the wreckers. I was about 7 when that went. Then we got a '96 Mitsubishi Magna, which I drive to this day. About two years ago we got another car as well, an '89 Mitsubishi UC Nimbus. It's a f*cking beast of a car too. Cost $2000. The thing's got bog cracking and falling out around both rear wheelarches and countless dents and ripples in the panels. Some of the paint's oxidizing too. But it doesn't matter, it's the Nimbus. [email protected]£$ Posted June 11, 2005 Share Posted June 11, 2005 As far back as i've been alive, we had a Ford Sierra and a Peugeot 205 1.9l GTi round about when i was born, then a Vauxhall Cavalier and a Rover 414 (?), followed by just a 1.8l Vauxhall Vectra, then a Vectra 2.5l SRi, then a Peugeot 406 2L executive, now we have a Suzuki Baleno 1.6 hatch, a Vauxhall Corsa 1.2. Ive now got a nice lil Mini with a 1.3l MG Metro engine, now putting out around 90bhp (fried the clutch the other day), my dad now has a Honda VFR400R NC30 motorbike, and weve still got a Jaguar Mk2 3.8L manual overdrive which weve had for as long as i can remember. Now they come in rather non-chronological order: 1989 VW Golf II 1995 Ford Escort 1998 Seat Cordoba (damn, I loved that car - good engine, all painted in black... <3) 2 x Opel Astra Combi - one red, one navy with funny vinyl on it, 1994 Fiat Tipo Tarpan, a cross-over between off-road and delivery car, I think... 1990 Audi 80 1987 Audi 80 Now we have 1998 Fiat Siena HL. (1985-1987): Some piece of sh*t my dad bought before I was born for a few hundred bucks as an immigrant doing grad school at Arizona State and trying to start up in the U.S. 1987 Toyota Camry DX, dark blue (1987-1996): Family moved to Idaho where we got this one. Our family went through a lot with this car. By the time we got rid of it it had a long red scratch running all the way across its side from an accident at the Bush Airport in Houston and a crack spanning the windshield after it was hit by a rock on a highway also near Houston. Traded in in 1996. 1989 Honda Civic Hatchback, red (1989-1999): My dad decided to get a second car when we moved to Illinois. Only my dad could drive it because my mom didn't know the stick shift. He even tackled the hills of downtown San Francisco with it in the time we lived near Oakland. Donated it to charity for the tax cut on the Corolla we would be getting. 1996 Mercury Villager GS, dark green (1996- ): The Camry was falling apart and my mom wanted something bigger, so we got this minivan while living in North Carolina. It had some minor defects from the start, and the electrical system has had some problems now that the car's nine years old. Had the engine replaced a few years back. 1999 Toyota Corolla CE, silver (1999- ): The Civic had been having problems for some time now, so it was time to upgrade. Car was originally destined for my sister, but she went to college in Cali so the car stayed here in Texas. It's mine now, and I'm trying to take good care of it. 2004 Honda Accord EX V6, silver (2004- ): 2004 was the first summer I had my license, and since I'd be needing the Corolla full time during the school year, my dad bought this one so all the family members living at home would have their own car.
