Well, to start off, my jeep has a rear mounted spare tire. Sure, you are thinking "oh yeah, a spare, whootie do!" But that spare tire is a handy lil f*cker. The only problem is that I did not have the special keyed lug nut remover for that spare tire. So I couldn't get it off. Again, not a big deal, I can remove it with the grinder at my dad's place. I headed over there yesterday around 7pm with intentions to just remove that lug nut. One thing led to another and I ended up playing cards till 11pm, starting a fire in the woods and drinking a lot of beer, and going off-roading drunk, like I usually do when I drink with my dads side of the family.

Now I have gone through these woods over 100 times. I know them well. Hell, some of you guys may remember how my buddy Allen's jeep liberty was stuck and I had to pull him out. That water hole that e got stuck in is not something I want to go through...so I go around it. With the latest storm we had a few days ago, the ground was saturated. Think of it as quicksand only instead of sand, you have nasty, thick, slick, clay.

I got stuck around 3am. My buddy paul came out with his big 4x4 F-250 (6inch suspension lift, 3 inch body lift, and 38-42 inch mud tires) to pull me out. Sure, he got me out, but he came close to getting suck a few times himself...which would have sucked major cock. Oh and to add to all of the fun: I busted my chin wide open on my cum-along hand winch.

Anyways, here is the aftermath of being stuck and pulled out:

Oh and BTW: I installed a new steering wheel...I know its muddy in the pic, but it looks great in the Jeep when its clean:

BTW2: I got a dune buggy. I need a motor, some new floor pan, and some other sh*t, but if I can get it going, it should be great fun:

EDIT1: Busted chin:

EDIT2: Like I said earlier, I got stuck going around the mudhole where Allen got suck. If you look at this pic, I got stuck 20ft to the left of his jeep in this picture:

A Silverado 1500 is, by no means, a scary truck.

I'm wondering, would any 5x130 hubs and brakes from a 944 turbo/turbo S, late 928, 968, any recentish 911, Cayenne, etc be adaptable for Golfs/Corrados/etcs or would the Porsche stuff just be way too big? I've seen a good number of fwd VW's wearing Porsche rims but I'm guessing they were just using 4x100 to 5x130 adapters?

It's been done before, but the axle diameter and design on the Porkers is completely different to that on V-dubs, so it's a pain in the arse to get the hub to "play ball" with the axle. Generally, people will just use a hub adapter (good) or fit wobble bolts (f*cking stupid). As for brakes, from personal experience it's surprisingly easy to get 996/Boxter/944 brakes to fit on VAG hubs- loads of people do conversion kits to fit Prosche/MovIt 4-pots.

Then why'd you post up on a public forum claiming that you drove something completely different, you utter pillock?

Grow some balls and get a real car.

I drive a corrado mate, running daily driver restoration.

And bless. Half tonne silverado? I'd love to see you try and chase me with that.

You seem like the sorta tool who'd buy the n/a auto skyline though. And fyi I can afford a skyline.

I consider an R33 gts-t, Not the fastest, or lightest skyline, but pretty f*cking beefy car instead of the corrado for a while.

But I wouldn't buy an R34 because of the NFS stigma attatched to the buggers.

Get me a VR-4 Legnum/Lancer or a B4 legacy any day though.

Aww, he's cute isn't he? Can we keep him?

You got any long term plans for the Corrado? Built 16v turbo? R36 transplant? Valver on ITBs?

Considering either 20vt or an R32/TT/S3 etc 3.2 swap...

But we'll see what the insurance has to say on the matter!

S3's are 20VT/16V TFSI, not 3.2 wink.gif

There are off-the-shelf kits for 20VT transplants, but if you want an R32 or more than about 300bhp out of a 20VT setup you should, nay MUST, convert it to Haldex. Synchro can be done, but they tend to eat driveshafts and transfer boxes after about 300bhp. Haldex requires a Rallye floorplan, a sawzall and lots of shouting. How about a GT28 series on the existing 16v? Manifolds are cheap, you'd need to swap rods but not pistons and they're good for a reliable 250-300 depending on how they're mapped.

My G60 was a nightmare, even with a proper limited slip front diff in it, and that only had about 250bhp at the best of times!

I assume you meant A3

I know a guy whose done a couple of Haldex transplants and even a full-fat Quattro transplant into a Mk2 Golf. Apparently it's not that hard if you can weld and cut straight, just parts happen to be quite expensive.

They did, but this was an export, meaning they just fit some extra stuff on 'er here in Sweden, it wasn't originally built for the USA.
