boooyaaaa 240 with airbags!!!!

Yeah, but no cupholders.

@epoxi: It's really not as bad as it looks. I can get replacement light covers at Pull-A-Part for like, $5 a piece. Maybe less. A bigger concern is the missing antenna, the A/C needs to be charged... and the radio doesn't work. Not just because the antenna's gone, it just won't turn on at all. Going to put in a new one in May when I can afford it.

And it's not registered/insured yet. Still stuck driving the Vibe everywhere until later this week. sad.gif

Edit: More pictures, since the ones I took last night made it look like crap.

Jesus, first my dad tells me he has dibs on it if I ever want to sell it, and now my sister says that she wants it whenever I get my next car.

Anyway, getting plates for it tomorrow, hopefully. Can't wait to finally ditch the f*cking Vibe.

It's after 1986. that's all i know. Those are the stock headlights for the US market, same goes for the indicators.

Mine's a '93. And the ones in the pic are from the Canadian version, according to Wikipedia.

Honestly I prefer the US lights, I just need to clean them.

Edit: New pic.

At least when it gets ripped off, it's only plastic right? Nothing of value will be lost. tounge.gif

@ Illousion - It's my friend's 71 Buick Electra 225. Has a 455 in it with a blown head gasket. He figures it's easier just to swap in this Olds 455 he has instead of fixing the Buick motor. Should be a decent ride when it's all done.

Yea BMW displays aren't the most reliable pieces of technology...

Supposed to say CHECK CONTROL OK, it's almost impossible to read the outside temperature. And my car's only 13 years old.

Also, if you see rust fix it ASAP, otherwise this could happen:

That's the battery tray in the trunk, and yes that is a hole in the top right corner, and you could see how it completely separated from the rest of the body on the top side. It's nothing but rust, I could punch a hole right through without even trying, and half the spare wheel well is rusted but not as badly. Luckily there's a shop that parts out tons of BMWs nearby and they're hooking me up with a pretty much mint trunk pan, now all I have to figure out is how to replace it.

VW's did that really bad. Or really anything with an interior or trunk mounted battery. My bug's battery tray (under the back seat/where the back seat used to be) is pretty much in the same state right now. Designs like that really need a battery box or better yet, a sealed battery like an Optima.

Luckily my battery is under the hood so my trunk is pretty rust free.

OMG stretch. Did you put a V8 in the front, or just hit a really fat person and it stayed like that?

Either way, meets my approval. icon14.gif

Yea they at least need some plastic between the metal and battery, it seems like a battery burst in there at some point and corroded the metal, which slowly got worse and worse. My old car had the fluid bottle for the rear washer mounted in a similar spot, guess what happened to it...

Who wants a house or an apartment, when you can have a Golf?

Awesome Beamer, Lurch. Appears to be in quite good nick. What kind of engine is it kicking?

Junk the 90mm, chuck on a 50mm and go lower. When I was taking my old G to VW shows I used to check the coilovers were seated right by putting the key under the front subframe. If I could get it completely vertical, it wasn't low enough.

Wouldn't suggest driving it for prolonged periods like that, not unless you want you sump to look like swiss cheese.

It's a 535i. Has the big ole 3.4L M30B34 (rated at 182hp @ 5400 rpm and 208 ft-lb @ 4000 rpm). Think it has Ford 5.0 HO injectors in it (cheaper, go right on the bmw fuel rail, moves a bit more fuel) because the original injectors seem to be in a bag in the trunk. Might be chipped. Not sure, forget what the PO said. Other than that, it seems to be stock. Seems to have plenty of power.

When it goes, depending on funds at the time, I'll either swap an M30B35 out of an E34 535i (cheap, easy to find, will bolt in without much work, tons of info around on the swap), or an S38 B35 out of an E28 M5 or a S38 B36 out of an E34 M5. Either way, I'll have to have a professional wire it all up since electronics are magic to me.

Might be cheaper to stand-alone it anyway- more power, too!

Some might find this a bit silly, but I got really tired of all the scratched and worn interior plastic, so I've started replacing the easier parts. Also installed some new brushed steel pedal covers from an Audi TT. Here's some before and after shots:

I just dusted off and vacuumed the floor mats, but eventually I'd like to replace them with some R-line mats from the Golf R32.

Very nice brushed steel effects, understated, but looks like a whole other trim level.
