You so could have got a 2 chamber flowmaster from a junkyard for 11 bucks (they have lifetime warranties, so they're made to last).  confused.gif

I wasn't about to go hack a used muffler off a junkyard car, good condition or not.

Of course, I'm stuck with a sh*tty sounding car...

Lots of them have brand new exhaust systems....

I'd rather use a used Flowmaster than a new, sh*tty o.e.m. replacement. tounge.gif

I would too, knowing it's in ok condition. But, again I wasn't going to go hack one off. The thought never crossed my mind. Honestly if I could have gotten one for a decent price at the store then I would have. But everywhere around here wants f*cking $100 for one. No thanks.

Back from court, only have to pay $185 for my speeding and improper lane usage tickets, plus 3 months court supervision (which means if I get pulled over again, I'm f*cked. That's it though)... f*ck YEAH.

A nice, used one at a muffler shop would only be 25 bucks or so. And most of them are still in really good condition even after years of use (ones at muffler shops usually only have a couple of months on them and are usually in tip, top shape).

This was and still is my dream car, I finally had enough money to put a decent down payment on it so I can get good financing without a ridiculous monthly payment.

f*ckin' win.

Needs a set of Tial R650's to replace the KKK04 standard turbos. Mmm, 800bhp sleeper saloon.

Peter, another US import. Damn you Lithuanians!

It was bought from some German couple. tounge.gif Then half a year later the transmission shat itself.

That explains the warning stickers all over the interior though.

EDIT: Hold on a sec, if it's a US spec Saab then why does it have turn signals on the front fenders? Also, Euro plates fit perfectly on the trunk, US versions usually have small and crappy plates. DOES NOT ADD UP.

hmm could you provide me a pic of the front left side as well? all lights on except blinkers? And do you have a double tacho?

Signature soon.

Absolute beauty mate, i saw one of these the other day with a kid who couldnt have been older then me driving (17) asked me and my dad for directions and sped off into the night. I needed new boxer shorts after hearing the V8 fire away.

If possible could you get some videos of it, maybe a nice acceleration video or something tounge2.gif

Maybe in time, however, I still carry my kids around in it every so often. The only thing I presonnally have done to the car is the exhaust. It is the APR 2.5" turbos back the dual downpipes and all. sh*t's expensive.

I'm not sure how well the car will handle blow off valves venting to the atmosphere, if I can get them to work without the car falling on it's face every time I let off the gas I will do that.

I recommend you avoid going BOV for the RS6. It's essentially an RS4 with two extra cylinders lobbed on the end, and if my memory serves me correctly it uses exactly the same compressor bypass valve system as the RS4, 1.8T ect ect. All VAG cars use recirculating blow off valves rather than atmospheric "dump" ones. Without modified engine management including the removal of the mass air flow sensors, the car will run rich every time the boost pressure is vented, which in the long term can damage the engine.

Stick with recirculation systems. Forge do an excellent setup for big turbo S4/RS4's which can be used interchangably with the RS6.

I knew that they were recirculating, that is how most turbo cars are. A buddy of mine has an RS6 as well and he has a different MAF sensor. The sensor on his is in the intercooler piping right before the throttle body on each side. Not on the intake in front of the compressor, his works real well because it's not dumping any air that has already been measured. The air is measured after the compressor & after the BOVs. The MAFs he has are hotwire type where as mine (stock) are karmen vortex. He has two HKS super sequential pull type valves. Sounds amazing & drives perfect.

Should I hold you to that??

I'd actually like to see it.

I'll do my best. Lately I've been busy as hell, but next week I'll be able to at least take care of the bodywork (or the bulk of it, damn people, puttin' on crooked hood scoops and hood pin holes!). I'll have to visit the nearest auto-paint shop to find the right paint and see what costs are gonna run (never used matte before). Worst comes to worst, it'll be done in black primer for a week or two or even a rattle-can job but I'm now determined to have it at least one color. Can't wait until I can just lay down the colors, that's the fun part! Great time-frame for a reply, huh?

I just got back from a paint shop to get some prices on paint (and stuff for other possible projects) and found out something quite interesting: due to some specials going on right now, going with a classic Trans Am inspired pearl white w/metallic blue racing stripes paint job may equal (or come quite close to) the price of a flat black do, even with clearcoat included! Problem is, both still end up being pricy. Unfortunately due to current fund levels, a matte paint do may only happen rattle-can style, what to do, what to do...

I'd love to see it with a flat/satin black paint job over the pearl white with blue stripes personally, but I'm biased as black is my favorite car color.

But, if you'd rather have it like that of course go with what you like. How much are they asking? Paint jobs can't be cheap, can't blame you for not having enough cash.

Post any progress pics icon14.gif

Paint shop wants $88 for satin black with reducer+activator, which totals 1 1/2 qts. That comes to $264-352 for just the paint, plus I think I'm out of primer.

The white is on special for $20/quart, so that comes to $80-100, add $20 for pearl flake, $25 for the blue, and $70-90 for the clearcoat. That comes down to $235.

Even being way to cheap to pay somebody else to paint the car for me (and because I don't trust Maaco tounge.gif ) this is more than I remember. Add the primer, it gets pretty pricey. I've got all the supplies minus paint and some of the primer, and I've got some experience in car painting. Looks like I'm gonna try to get the bodywork done next week when I've got some free time, and then I suppose I'll rattle-can the car flat black until I can do it all-out. Not what I'd hoped, but still sounds fun. I figured satin black paint would be cheap...

Quick sh*tty vid of some rev limiter showboating with my Magnex back box. Surprisingly loud considering the restrictive part of the exhaust is the b-pipe! Sounds nice and subdued inside the car though.

The car is also called the Chevrolet Aveo and Pontiac G3 in America. Has many alias's, I think that car and the Astra are the most used car platform by the manufacturer.
