I've had a somewhat interesting car history over the last few years. Saab 900 Turbo, Mk2 Golf GTi, Corrado G60, E36 BMW 328iS, and an Audi S4, which I loved to bits.

Since getting the dog, I now own an Audi A4 2.0TDi Quattro-

Am taking my National Group B racing license test in February next year- am aiming to compete in the Production BMW cup (£2000 E30s), followed by the National Saloon car Championships if I can get a team together over the next few years.

Nice bike and nice car history! How old are you (if you don't mind me asking).

I've been carting 2 labradors and camping gear in my CTR for the past 2 years, thankfully we have the SAAB now.

I would love to get in to racing but I live in a terraced shed on a main road, no garage for fun toys (nor money sad.gif)

Update us on your progress smile.gif

I'm 22. I landed a great job straight out of Uni though, working for a defence contractor as an analyist. Basically, I'm part of the team who gets to decide whether it's safe to send private security firms, construction companies, and buisnesses into war zones.

Dup: I love that Saab man; that should last you for quite a while. They're well made; only a couple of years ago did my dad sell his '98 Saab 900. It was still quality. icon14.gif I imagine it has a nice interior, no?

Why is that kids with rich families can't afford cameras, yet ALL us country folk have them?

The biggest problem I see with that photo, is the blurred out vanity plate.

I'm no Sherlock, but I'd say that's the biggest reason it gets keyed.

My car doesn't get keyed, and I park it on the street wink.gif

@ Ghost - Loving the Skoda, oldschool fun! You should get it tidied up and loved again.

@ Cran & Stefan - The Saab rocks. It will probably only do 4-6k miles during the year anyway so the millage isn't an issue. Interior is nice and comfy and it's pretty quick too. Prefer my CTR though biggrin.gif

Well Dan, yours is kinda clever. Plus, it's on a CTR, not a Continental GT.

The way I see it, if you stick your actual name on the plate, people will think you're a cock because you're all "look at me and my Bentley".

H8DUP really doesn't have any meaning to people who don't understand it.

Its for bussiness perposes plus he has had that number plate for like 10 years. THough the last kids to key it wouldn't be doing it again happy.gif

First I recorded them doing it for court case purposes (If the dared to do any) then my brother suck up behind the two kids and smacked there heads together and draged them to th floor followed by afew kicks to the ribs each (not hard) It was really satisfiying to watch those little runts getting there comupence lol.gifI then I came outside with my dad who was holding the air rifle .The funniest thing was when they said

Chavs "Were going to sue you for assult"

Brother "Well how goods your laywer, just to let you know our one is one of the best in this city"

Chavs "Well we got witnesses"

Brother "What witnesses ?"

Followed by the chavs looking around and realising the streets were deserted. It was comedy gold, they got up and ran away and we havent heard of them since.

You'll either get charged 12k a year or laughed at over the phone.

monitor_57 had a scoob as his first car. Well he went on his parents insurance as a named driver which bumped the premiums to 7k a year fully comp.

Anyways, after shelling out another hemmorhage(sp?) of chiropracter money I decided it was best to go for comfort rather than crotch rocket, as such I've been slowly getting rid of my associated fiesta stuff and returned back to standard, and as such in the next few weeks I should be picking up a new car.

No pictures as of yet but it's still ford tounge.gif

ford focus 1.8 TDCi ( yup derv) Sport

Magnum grey, half leathers etc.

Have a look on google images for a magnum grey st170 and thats pretty much it.

My Dads insurance company said it will be fine. I think your thinking of a Subaru Impreza WRX STi edition which are the the really fast powerful ones with all the body kits. I am getting a standered Subaru

I know at least it won't guzzel as much as my Dads car confused.gif But I can't wait to have one. My Brother managed to get good insurance on his Renult Cleo V6 when he was just 24 mercie_blink.gif which fills me with optimisum about mine lol.gif

Ooh, the 1.6? That's okay then, I was indeed thinking of an STI or something, which would of been really expensive for anyone who's young. tounge.gif

In just over a year, I'm probably going to get an BMW e21 as a first car, likely to be a 316.

I'm probably going to opt for an e21 because they're much lighter than an e30, and not many of them have been ragged and smashed by other young people, so the insurance should be down big time. Oh, and they're cheap to buy, and by cheap I mean £500 for a really well maintained example.

and they're just so cute. inlove.gif

user posted image

Then again, I could just get an e30 estate, because being an estate should help down the insurance just a little bit more. turn.gif

Or I could just get a Mini, which would be so awesome. I probably won't though, as their prices are climbing pretty fast.

Yeah, proper Minis are going for stupid money now.

I'm hoping to get one this year, however my budget isn't terrifically big so I'm not expecting to get anything concourse.

cant wou get the current imprezza in 1.4 guise anyways? And besides being insured on a clio v6 ain't anything special at 24, my eldest bro was insured on an 02 911 turbo at 24 for £800 fully comp, although he,s now 28 and paying that for a vauxhall zafira (mainly due to his other half,s 8 points and previous speeding ban). Insurance goes off more than age and car i can tell you that.

My other brother is 20 and his insurance quote for a jag xf sv8 is 7.5k, I'm 18 and mine is 4.2k both fully comp quotes. Mine is cheaper due to no claims bonus even though he's held his licence longer.

It also depends on post code area, crime rates, pass plus schemes etc.

But good luck with that anyways.

Oh and moral of the story, don't have kids, you could be insuring a 911 turbo instead =p

Well next year, when he is 28 he's buying a Lambourgin Gallardo (heaven knows why) but I mean its going to be hard for him to get cheap insurance, though for 4 years he hasn't claimed

He is going to look horrible out of place though considering my Dad and his buissness parthers all have elegant cars such as the Bently Contiental & Austin Martin DB9.
