My dad got it from one of his patients. She is too old to drive and said she didn't want it any more and told him to have it or sell it. We are keeping it for the moment, then we will sell it once we've repaired it and cleaned it (It hasn't been cleaned since 2001).

Wow, that's pretty generous. I assume this was instead of paying the bill in cash.

 

Anyway, your Mazda 2 looks very nice (definately first choice over the Corsa).

 

Maybe it's the chav in me, but I think a bigger exhaust or a body-shaped exahaust (like on the new Civic) would have been better than the pea-shooter.

Just bought a new Mazda CX-9 yesterday. Grand Touring AWD version, the all wheel is practically a necessity in the winter where we live.

 

Leather interior, 300hp engine, and it has a neat little switch that allows you to turn off the tcs, for fun in the winter. ;P

Decent shot from the rear, the luxury package that came with it wrapped the dual-exhaust in chrome, which I think looks just great.

Yay for my leg! Note the lack of a key-start, there isn't a key, it all runs on an electronic smart key system. We were undecided about buying the gps navigation package, which was an extra 3 grand for something I already have on my blackberry. Although, with a 10 speaker bose surround sound system and a nice 400W sub, I'm happy with the dash.

While it is an automatic, it has a cool SportShift function that allows you to drive it in semi-auto. You can shift up and down at any time, and it won't damage the engine at all. There is no clutch, it's just up and down. Looking forward to combing that with the tcs switch in the winter.

Since this is the latest addition to our family of cars, I won't be posting any other pictures of our vehicles right now. But I have an '08 F-150 Crew Cab and an older '06 350z, and the wife has her RX-8 and this 6,000 lb luxury tank to haul the kids around with. I also have a project '88 Mazda MX-6 that I bought brand new many, many years ago. Haven't used it in years, but have wanted to fiddle with it as of late.

 

Also, can't seem to get the pictures to link properly, if anyone could help me out with that. I rarely frequent this site, and "" isn't working.

Couldn't drive with so much loose things, not the way I drive. I'd get knocked in the face or something wedged under a pedal eventually.

I also like to keep my car clean, since it'd decent looking. Having all that junk laying around in it would just make it feel really dirty, imo.

I would, except two things:

 

A. I don't live in California.

B. I'd rather have a worn out car with personality, than a riced up piece of sh*t.

 

@Pico: I can't even drive it right now (still haven't found a replacement head. ). I'm going to clean it out eventually, though. As odd as it may sound, I have a combination of OCD and laziness, which don't go together too well. Laziness usually wins over OCD-ness, but there are rare occasions when I get too disgusted and clean it up.

 

As for the crutches, those are my fathers from when he had a broken leg in high school. Why they're in the back of my car, I honestly have no f*cking clue.

I'm a bit worried about the oily grains that litter this area. I have a theory that the t-section you see in the last pic is leaking. Think it's the crankcase ventilation. Any ideas?

Have you actually found it to be oil?

 

Give the engine bay a good clean over with wd40, keep an eye on it,

 

doesn't look too bad given how many miles are on the engine.

It's probably crap that has built up on the pipework and when the pipes have got hot they've caused it to melt, flake off etc. As said. Clean it up with a non acid based degreaser (WD40) and keep an eye on it.

My new project car: 1994 Mazda MX3 RS with a KLZE swap, bought for $600 CAD, and the guy threw in a brand new remote starter/alarm system and a bin full of random 1.8L V6 engine parts.

I don't have any interior shots because my friend has the key, but it's pretty bad, especially since alot of the panels are off and it's just generally dirty, plus the guy riced it out to hell by painting everything blue and white.

 

Something like 213,000 km on the body, 113,000 km on the engine.

Needs a good deal of work, new ECU, timing seems to be off, only 2 speakers work, no AC (I can live without that), needs a TPS, handbrake is disconnected (something with the rear calipers according to the seller), power windows get stuck often, and are incredibly slow when they do work, the key doesn't open the trunk , paint job is crap and the clearcoat is coming off in places, especially the hood, plus there are pieces of flaked off paint everywhere, and a new deck would be really nice because this one is a horrible piece of sh*t that skips when playing CDs when the car is parked and I can't see what half the buttons do because the paint is rubbed off.

 

Runs decently though, it made the 40 minute highway drive to my house just fine.

Intercooler pipe, smashed the bracket on a ripple strip last track day and it's been hanging low ever since.
