Not my car but holy sh*t I just drove the f*ck out of a '19 BMW X6M, what a car.

 

 

 

They really knocked it out of the park with the handling, it's got the steering responsiveness of a Miata on a huge bulbous SUV body. Loved it.

No new cars since 2020 as I'm currently making a place to put them. Should be done with it in about a year (have a lot to do on the interior as well) before I start buying fun toys again.

She'll look even better this coming Friday. Ordered a suspension rebuild kit from RockAuto and she's getting a set of IS250 wheels with brand new tires.

 

There's a lot of things to correct in this car, but getting it to handle well is priority #1.

Aaaaand the new wheels/tires are installed. They were free.

 

 

 

 

Tires are pretty good. The wheels? Not so much, they desperately need a paintjob. I'm happy with how they look on the car so far though.

 

Way better than the oversized CR-V wheels & tires that came with it when I got it.

I am so conflicted with my Focus.

 

I am grateful that I am in the position to have it and I really am so happy to have a newer car for once, but at the same time I put my greatest desires off to the side. I really wanted to order a 2 door base Bronco in Cyber Orage, but the order banks filled so much and I knew I wouldn't get mine for a year or so. So I moved on from the idea. Then, I heavily considered the Maverick, which is a nice little ute-type car.. the order banks for those are screwed as well.

 

Regardless, my bank was weary on financing me for either of those options anyway, so that's when I went and looked at the Focus and eventually bought it. I regret not waiting honestly. There's nothing wrong with the Focus, but I just feel like I didn't buy it for me. I've never had that "cool" car in my life besides when I owned a P71 Crown Vic, and I miss that car dearly,

Just spit balling here, but why not sell it while the market is still hot, use what you've made from the sale to pay off your finance. Maybe then you can pick up a second hand sh*tbox while you wait for your Bronco/Maverick? Life's too short to drive something you don't love.

I don't know what the interior is like (I've never owned a Ford, the ones I've been in/rented were always rather ascetic, and that's the part you spend most of the time looking at in your own car) however in terms of the outer appearance I must say I really like the looks of that Focus. Just my 2 cents but for me it's definitely a "cool hatch:" nice design, working even better with this paint choice, although I might be a little biased here since I've had 2 cars in more or less the same color. It seems you'd just prefer to have something from another segment/larger but hey don't be hating on your Focus, you could've done worse.

I've considered this a couple of times over the past few weeks honestly. It's a solid idea, and I'm sure it could work out as long as I do get that cheapo ride to hold me over. I just am unsure of the timing of everything. It makes me very anxious just thinking about the paperwork I'd have to go through, the logistics of selling and collecting funds, etc. Carmax only offered me 14k while dealers are selling very similarly spec'd Focus models with identical mileage for 17-18k. You hit the nail on the head though, life really is too short. I envy my peers who are driving something much cooler and sporty.

The interior is actually quite nice. It's basic but it gets the job done, certainly a lot more modern than anything else I've had. My only gripe is that it doesn't have the larger infotainment screen which includes the fancy SYNC touch system. No hate at all towards the Focus regardless, it's definitely a wonderful car, and I am loving the gas mileage in today's economy.

I would sell if I was in your place, as I wouldn't drive something that didn't fill the blank completely. If you are in a position to do so, get something more your style.

 

to stay on topic, this is image gives off a powerful aura. i drive both of them daily (even though the twingo isn't mine hehe) and one sucks for city use (due to its lowered-ness and meaty engine) and the other sucks for highway and open road use (due to its small oat meal engine)

Just a 2010 Ford Fusion SEL with the 4-Cylinder, nothing that special.

It runs, it has Bluetooth, good heated power leather seats, cold air... i'm set until the day something goes wrong with it.

Couldn't resist a good deal, '06 GS300 was a POS and I got rid of it as soon as the EPS rack gave out.

 

Got myself a 2002 Lexus LS430 for dirt cheap, 90k miles. A few gremlins but nothing dealbreaking.
