Oh wow, sh*tty, What happened?

I was driving to school. This car was in the middle of the road. I turn away in an attempt to not crash. The other car then tried to turn away but ended up turning the same way I did. I turn the other way and so did the other car. Then the crash happened. Basically, instead of turning opposite directions, we turned in the same direction by mistake.

insurance scam? we don't even know what happened.

like I said, who was at fault? why was the other car in the 'middle' of the road? who swerved first?

 

it doesn't sound like a scam.

a scammer picks a scenario in which they absolutely look like the victim; like getting rear-ended. not a T-bone collision that could go either way.

Not necessarily a scam, but I think the whole situation just seems very fishy: the road is as wide and open as a racetrack, the damage is perpendicular to the car, and it's on the side of the car opposite to the driver's side. Something was very out of place when the collision occurred.

What are you suggesting?

To be honest, I'm not really suggesting anything, it just strikes me as such a strange situation for two cars to collide in such a manner on a very straight wide road with no hazards, no obstructions, clear visibility, no other traffic, no junctions, no adverse weather conditions in broad daylight.

 

Unless someone was on their phone, drunk or driving at very excessive speeds I just can't see it happening.

 

Edit: Please don't think I am accusing you of anything, and please don't elaborate as it could interfere with your insurance proceedings, but hopefully you can understand my confusion.

Gotta love the new Rocco R. f*cking stupid that they wont sell the Scirocco over here anymore. Always loved to see them on the road.

 

Its 280 HP though. I'd choose the Mk7 R over the Rocco R, because the 7 R has 300 HP and 4WD, the Rocco has FWD.

It hasn't been driven a lot, but I think brake dust will be the biggest issue. It was either that or black ones. It's not an everyday car anyway so they wont get that dirty.

The 'Roc is faster than a 7R under most conditions. In fact, the Leon Cupras are faster than 7Rs and they don't have the advantage of wide track that the Scirocco has.

 

Haldex is much better these days than it used to be but in track and fast road driving in dry conditions it's basically dead weight. Hence why the less powerful, somewhat lighter Scirocco and Cupra are faster than the Golf R. And, if you measure power at the wheels, probably more powerful too given the significantly higher drivetrain losses associated with Haldex in comparison to the VAQ diff.

They sure do, driving one myself (Gti), people came up to me several times and asked me if they could take pictures of the car lol. People also give me many thumbs when they pull next to me at a red light. Im sure yours turns heads aswell, it has a great color.

New Car?

Got a new car, first brand new one I've had. 1.0 EcoBoost Ford Fiesta Titanium 63 plate. Came from Ford as a curtsey car, only had 9,400 miles on it before they sold it for £10,350. I f*cking love it man, drives like a beauty, got them to fit in the reversing sensors for free too which is a bonus. The only thing I'm slightly disappointed in is the fact its only 3 door but I've always had a 5 door Peugeot 206. I'll get used to it though. Can't complain for the price and miles to be honest.

That EcoBoost engine is really impressive, so much power (and economy) for something smaller than an A4 piece of paper.

 

 

 

I hope they build them well because I dread to thing how difficult it would be to fix if something went wrong!

Yeah I was looking over the videos on how they made them on YT when I was waiting a long week to pick it up. Its an amazing engine, the guy who made it has said he has no idea how he came up with the idea haha. It has some serious pull to it though even if you lightly press on the accelerator its amazing. Ford guy said it has the turbo of a 1.6 in high revs. I was stupid/smart enough to basically do about 80/90mph in 3rd gear just to see the rev counter go up and honestly you couldn't even f*cking tell I was in 3rd gear it was that smooth. Needless to say I won't be doing it again, but it was very nice. I'm still coming to terms with how much technology is in the car, I'm a little overwhelmed by it all at the moment haha.
