Would you like my work details? I'd love to fix that thing up. Rust repairing is my new thing. cool.gif It'd look good with a total restoration, but I don't know you'd be willing to spend that sort of money. We did an old Jag, and that was nearly $10,000 just for the external panels. Not the door jams and such. Either way, great f*cking car you've got there, where'd you pick that one up?

Despite the way it looks it doesn't need much work at all. Only real rust in it is in the bottom of the rear doglegs, and those are only about the size of a 50cent peice each. The reason you see all the rust on the paint is, the car spent the first 30 years of its life in Torquay and it never got parked in a garage. All it really needs is a few dings fixed and a respray and she'll look tops. I already replaced the dented front gaurd and bumper today, sadly the front subframe got a little damaged too but I'll replace that on the school holidays.

I heard about it from my teacher at TAFE, it was owned by a mate of his. I didn't think about it much untill I had that sinking realisation that my wagon was well and truley f*cked. So I saved a little money and got the blokes phone number. The story went that his parents had bought it new from *consults original owners manual* R & B Smith Motors in Geelong on the 23/7/1971. They used it as their everyday hach for about thirty years racking up 130k on the clock in that time. About five years ago the son (now a businessman in his fifties) gets his hands on it and began to restore it, but he didn't have much time and after initially spending about $3000 on it and after a few years of the wife nagging that she wanted to park her car in the garage, he gave in and sold it to me for $450.

Dalp, feel free to send you work details to me, as I said it needs a respary and as its got some rego, I may come down and get a quote off you guys. But just for the record I haven't got $10,000 it a bit more like >$1000. cool.gif

@ Richard, yeah that's better. It's a nice looking car. Take care of it!

@ lySdEXiA, what year is your skyline?

@ Jayzamann, I prefer the Nissan Maxima, but the Sentra is a cool car too. My mom had a '92 Sentra. It rocked.

I had it since I was like 3. I always used to drive it around and stuff. I blew it up though, so now it just sits there.

It's a 1994 Acura Legend. Not bad, just needs some bodywork. When we bought it, there was a problem with the bumper since the previous owner got in a small fender bender. It hangs down on one side sometimes and it's too low to pull up close to a parking curb or it makes this terrible sound when I back off of it.

True, but for my price range, I am very happy with what I have. The particular car I got was classified as luxury when it was new, so it is standard with regular cars now, not a tinpot car you would expect for your first one.

Dasutin, is your car a stick? I drove one a few weeks ago with a stick and I was shocked at how quick it was. That car screams. I was considering one of those for a second car, but I need 4 doors, and the 4 door one looks ugly.

No, mines automatic... and it's not very quick anymore. It can still get up to about 110, but takes some time.

Do tell. By the way, the wind breaking ugly thing above the front seats rusts like a mother f*cker in no time at all. We've had about ten in at work in the last two months alone. The water sits in the rubber seal around it. Peel it back and have a look. If it's rough softish on the panel; rust. The ~ten were from a fleet of fruit sellers by the way, if you care to know. tounge.gif

Excuse the night time shot. It's the only one I have of it and my camera is in repair at the moment. I drive that there now and then, but like everyone else I don't unless I have to. It's an '89 Mitsubishi Nimbus. It's starting to rust in a couple of panels and has bog falling out of it, but it goes. I'd fix it but I'm lazy and don't care enough about it. No photo of the '96 Magna I drive everyday unfortunately.

@Dal - We(my family) used to own that exact same model Nimbus in the same colour I think lol. Later on we then upgraded to the 90's model Nimbus.

And yeah I'll explain better with some interior/rear photos.

94 Maro.

All stock except for Pioneer head unit (it had a tape player) and some sony speakers in the door. I start my job next week, so uh, it's about to look better.

Future mods include:

Subs & Amps

New rims

MAYBE a mild body kit

Dual exhaust (flowmaster)

CAI

Black out head lights and tail lights

Slam it

And that's about it.
