I love the way the indicators stay on all the time in the US.

You mean driving lights? Not sure what you mean. The E28 and E30 have 3 settings, everything off, just driving lights, or everything on.

Oddly enough, I usually only see it on imports. BMW's, Mercs, and VW's to be precise. The old bug was even like that. Pretty sure my mom's mazda and every american car/truck I've driven just used the headlights. My dad's cavalier might run both, but not sure.

The indicators on my burb come on with the rest of my lights. I've only got two options. DRLs, and everything on.

My friend's truck that bodystyle doesn't I don't think. But it's an 88. I know the square body ones definitely just do headlights only.

AFAIK these are called side marker lamps.

We only have them on Volvos and E60 BMWs here (although they are different to the US ones).

The headlights are the DRLs on my Burb, only way to turn them off is to set the parking brake. Not sure how far back that goes, I doubt it's all the way back to '88.

My friend's definitely doesn't have the auto headlights like that.

Requiring the parking brake for anything regarding lights is definitely on the retarded side though.

Those are indicators right (I noticed the US one doesn't have them between the mirrors and the wheels)? I've never seen them in the position of that US Cruze before.

Most of the EU requires a turn signal to be on the side of the car as well. (Which is the light there on the upper left of the fender of the Cruze. If that's not a reflection.)

As in the case of our Jetta it's side turn signal is the bottom 1/4 of the side mirror housing.

In the US it's not required but instead "parking lights" are required even though they are not used for their originally intended purpose any longer.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automotive_li...anding_lamps.29

They also are commonly called "running lamps" as well since they are more used for burnt out headlights, light fog situations and whatever else you might need them for.

The US requires reflectors on the sides and front/rear of all vehicles.

Me?

I just run our headlights all the time anyways.

I don't see why. Seems like it would just make for more often bulb changes.

The only lights that turn off when the DRLs are on are the taillights.

*shrug*

Haven't had any blow yet and we've had the car around a year now.

oil pressure or what? my friend's winnebego did something similar on his trip to MS. Drop the pan and clean off the oil pickup and it will most likely fix itself. Unless your oil pump has sh*t the bed.

I'll start looking at the oil pressure sensor, think I might have hit it by accident. But it was flashing when the dip stick showed that there was more than minimum. Hope it's not the pump, that would suck big time.

Double trouble.

It's pretty much summer now. No leaves on the trees yet though, but the temperatures are just right so I went out and enjoyed the Cadillac today. Went up to my home course (although we have three other golf courses around here) and had a coffee and a snack out in the sun overlooking the 18th hole. It blends right in, doesn't it? lol.gif
