MURDOC, trust me it's way better as a hatch. I've loaded two bicycles in the back.

Garfield, it's a Skoda. It's never going to feel like a Maybach.

My earlier comments were in relation to interior fit and finish, there's nothing wrong with the spec. As for parts sharing, the chassis is that of the MK4 Golf but modified for the longer body style, and all other parts are form the VAG bin so are shared between different marques. The engine is identical to that from the non-R Cupra, Polo GTI and 20AE Golf, so not-vvt head (I think) and K03(S) turbo.

I've loaded 3 bikes into an Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera, so all that really tells me is that I'm better at Tetris.

So....I've gotten word from the dealership in Taichung, Taiwan that my SLS has arrived. I'm not due to leave London for another couple months so I havent paid the car off yet (only deposit). I'm planning on leaving the SLS there while my new house is being done as I've run out of parking spaces at my current house and I really dont want to leave any of my cars street parked.

Champagne problems, I know.

i forgot to ask the main question, is it possible for me to not pay for the car and just leave it at the dealership for a couple months? I just bought another house and its still under construction but until then I dont have any more space for cars at my house now

how many cars do you have. Post pics of the current parking arrangement. I'm sure you should be able to squeeze one more in but it will probably be cramped.

The H2, Flying Spur and A8L. I don't have a picture of it right now but I'll draw a diagram later.

@TLC: those are some pretty sick plates lol.gif

EDIT: actually if you go back to the pics i posted of my cars, you can see how they're parked. It is possible to fit one more car in behind the centre space but then that would mean I would have to back a car out, drive the car i wanted to drive out and then re-park the car I had backed out into the now-free space. I don't know if that makes much sense but I'm having trouble describing it.

Just my opinion, from a totally poor simpleton standpoint... sell the H2, it's a pretty awful and ugly car, and it's quite big.

There you have my solution to your space problem. Hope it helps.

I get that a lot, the thing is I don't want to get rid of the H2 because frankly I like it and its quite rare in Taiwan. I've already gotten rid of the Lexus LS460L because I faced this same parking problem when I got the Flying Spur. I've waited for the SLS for about a year and a half already and it doesn't really bother me to wait another couple months to be honest. My question is what would happen to the car if I don't pay for it now? Would they sell it even though its customised to my specs? I don't want to lose my deposit but at the same time I don't have anywhere to keep it. The new house wont be ready until the end of the year, do you think the dealership would hold on to my car for another 6 months or so?

From what I've seen you have a bigger driveway than most.Quit being a bitch, get creative, and make some room. Us po folks do it all the time.

I managed to fit 4 cars(a Corolla, Mustang, Bug, and a Volvo S80) in a driveway which looks half the size as yours, the H2 is bigger, but i'm pretty sure you can find a way. ESPECIALLY for an SLS(i'd get rid of a few cars for an SLS)

The Hummers not even any bigger than the other 2. Just a bit wider than the audi.

I could make it work but its just terribly inconvenient and the fact that I won't be back in Asia for another few months is a problem. I also would like the money to leave my account at the last possible moment, I don't want to have to pay for it now and not be able to play with it until later.

You know none of us can help you on the deposit issue as none of us have experience with holding a car like that. Maybe Pav since he used to work in that trade (brokering sales of exotic cars or something like that?). I'm assuming you have some kind of contract from signing that deposit stating on how long they will hold it for you after the car arrives right? I'm doubtful the car dealer will hold it any longer than that. From hearing you story on burning a 997 turbo worth of cash in one night, I would buy it now before that money disappears.

As for terribly inconvenient, it's just 15 minutes of tetris-fitting cars. Good lord, you make rich people sound incredibly lazy.

Inconvenient as in having to make the 12 hour flight there then the 12 hour flight back, not to mention the time spent traveling to/from the airport. Also to find the time between now and the beginning of August will be incredibly difficult as I have a busier than usual schedule (I will be in Berlin, Amsterdam, San Diego, Los Angeles, Kuwait City and maybe New York between now and then).

So no, not lazy. wink.gif

For. A. SLS.

I'd be pretty damn excited if I got to globe-trot and come home to a gorgeous Merc.

Could you call someone up and have them Tetris all the cars together? When will the other house be finished?

Okay. I'd like to declare that I'm a liar.

I never owned a 530i, or a 328i or a 325i. It was all lies.

I know the owners of these cars though, and would like to apologise to them.

Probably lost all respect from both communities today, but, it's a fresh start afterall.

lol it's ok (in my books)

Nobody knows you on these forums so you didn't even have to confess.

The story about your car being stolen at school and found burnt to the ground sounded fishy haha

So what kind of car do you actually drive? tounge.gif

It's better to speak the truth, rather than lies, which sooner or later will be exposed. (And have been in fact).

I actually drive a Volvo V50.

That's true... in real life.

I don't think anybody on here would've found out you were lying anyway.

Time to post pictures of your Volvo V50? I think so icon14.gif

They were here a while back. I can't find them now, but they were.

It's being fixed at the moment anyway, so you might want to wait until Friday. I'll even post a proof.

Why would you lie about having those BMWs? Did the people who own those cars find out?

Anyway it is a little sad that you chose to lie but at least you came clean.

No idea, why I would lie. To be honest I'm trying to figure it out myself. Why lie about owning a machine...

Yeah, they did. I'm quite embarrassed about the whole situation, but maybe it'll prevent me from ever pulling off something like that again.

Personally Garfield I don't blame you for lying. Sometimes I get the impression that on this forum you either get criticised if you can't afford a German sportscar and buy something lower, or criticised for 'being rich' and 'not appreciating it' if you have many nice cars.
