That sucks since the gas mileage of an E60 530i 6 speed is about the same as an E28 535i 5 speed. US EPA rating of 18 City/27 Hwy. Mine's around 17 city/25 highway. I'm always cursing mine about how much fuel it drinks. If the price of fuel was more than double....good lord.

Put a new fender on mine. It has gold pin stripping so people will know that I'm classy as f*ck. Took the highbeam out to get more air to the rice filter. Might put it back on. Do it to it, son.

What you need is a chrome light bezel and tube running from the grill to the filter. At least something that would make the missing lamp hole blend in with the other lights.

Filter is right up against it. No room for a tube of any sort.

Then a nice bezel with maybe a bit of metal mesh...kinda like the CTS-V wagon grill. Just something to make it look like your not just missing the headlight. I mean, seriously, running three headlights can be a cool thing if you apply the right thought and effort into it.

Yeah, not spending time or money on it for bullsh*t like that. So much easier to just put it back in than to go through all that hassle.

Will probably put it back in tomorrow. Installation of it is easy. 2 big plastic nuts onto the studs coming out of the light and a little plug and it's in and working again.

Those US spec bumpers are just insane. You wouldn't even notice if you had a crash since you'd be sitting 100 yards away from the accident.

Reading a writeup on Euro bumper installs, it doesn't seem that it requires any welding, just requires a lot of cutting and some bondo work.

If you can pick one up fairly cheap and don't mind the work then I'd definitely go for it. Transforms the look of the car completely.

They're not cheap. Depending on condition, around $500-750 for a complete set front and rear with valances. Can be more if you want M535i valances.

I'm surprised you didn't choke on your drink or food when spotting that and hearing it was thought to add horsepower?!? WRONG. The whole idea of rear wings is to add DOWNFORCE wind on the rear axle, AT SPEED, and Porsche designed their Auto-Raising 911 rear wing to come up only at the proper speeds moving forward, IIRC, that would be about 60MPH
