GTA: Scans

Check there for the scans made by eightySeventh who also seems to hav subscribed to opsm and recieved it early

Well, it's looks as like R* is opening the countryside (Ghosttown, GTA III) to everyone, maybe it'll have a connection with VC and SA, who knows?

It looks exactly the freakin same as GTA3. I don't think i'll get it unless they expand each island significantly.

Maybe "Paulie" took over Sex Club 7 between '92 and '98, and in LCS you have to help Luigi to get his club back. blink.gif

Anyway, even if it doesn't make sense, it's looking really good. Thank God I got my PSP!! biggrin.gif

Over at psphacker.com, Rockstar has said the screens are leaked. Maybe with the magazines release date still ahead they consider them leaked. Who knows.

UPDATE: Rockstar has contacted us and informed us that this issue of OPM UK magazine has not been released yet and these are leaked pictures. I have complied with their wishes and removed them. However, we will be following the GTA PSP release closely, so stay tuned for news as it breaks!

If it's set in 98, we might run into Claude and Catalina, now that would be cool

this really does make me laugh at those people who made threads like " REAL GTA LCS PICS! OMGWTFLMAO!!!!!!!!111one!11" and it turned out to be some crappy fake. Hopefully they'll hurry up making this game. i havn't touched my psp in a week cause the selection of games is as dry chicken served at mcdonalds. confused.gif

I understand this is for PSP, but if you want bikes and choppers in LC why don't you just download GTA:LC the complete conversion from this very site? It seems logical to me than buying a PSP and a game totaling what 450$. Umm, maybe the logical behind this is just not logical and I am missing it.

For GTA:LC check http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showforum=10

Timeline:

1998: So possible encounters with charachters:

Claude/Catalina

Grove Street(CJ)

Tommy Vercetti

Donald Love

Ray Machowski

Luigi

8 Ball

Col. Cortez

Ken Rosenburg

Asuka Kasen/Kenji Kasen

Darkel???

Etc.

Differences to Liberty City (my opinion)

A building at the Cartel plaze on Staunton Island (where Asuka is killed)

8 Ball using his hands tounge.gif

Bikes/Helis

Change Clothes

Problems:

Toni will probably have the bulk of his missions in Portland with Salvatore, (not really a problem, I loved the mafia scene and Portland was my fave. island, but we dont kno what could be added)

Set in 1998.(come on Rockstar, please tell us where Donald Love dissapeared to)

Most LC charachters can't be killed, except new ones.(due to time paradox)

Please Add To If You Want rahkstar2.gif

thegtaplace.com has been updated with all the scans

In the latest issue of the Official Playstation2 Magazine in the UK they have released the first info about the game. You will play as Tony Cipriani in the year 1998 in Liberty City. The game kicks of where Tony returns to the city after he laid low for a while. Below we outline some of the stuf that we know so far:

► You will be able to drive bikes in the game!

► Rockstar are unsure if they will be able to keep flight in the in game, due to technical limitations.

► You may be able to run your own MP3s off the PSP's MemoryStick Duo.

► Salvatore will be returning in the game and you will be working for him.

► Luigi's club is now run by JD O'Toole, a triad pervert.

► Hidden Packages, Stunt Jumps and Rampages will be hidden in all new locations.

► Some buildings have been altered from 2001's GTA III to better represent the era.

► It looks like Luigi's Club has been renamed to "Paulie's Revue Pad" for the new era.

► Several old faces can be seen including Misty, Joey's girlfriend from GTA3 and Salvatore.

Yeah gotta agree with you there, maybe see him like in San Andreas, kinda in the background, not introduced to him.

Your an idiot, you want to know why it looks the same as GTAIII? Because it's in the same city as GTAIII. Why would they change it and make it look different, that wouldn't make sense, especially being set just 3 years before GTAIII.

And to the guy who said just download the PC mod and don't spend money on getting a PSP and the game.(which would only end up being $300, not $450) The PSP has other games besides GTA: LCS, and it has movies and plays music. They way you say it makes it sound like you can only play GTA:LCS if you get a PSP, and then you can only play GTA:LCS on it. I have a PSP, and it is totally worth it, especially with games coming out like GTA: LCS, Burnout: Legends, Daxter, GT4 Mobile, and many other games.

I've figured it out!

You play as Toni Cipriani's father, Tony Cipriani.

(In the magazine they spell Tony with a y and in the GTA3 the Toni we know has an i in his name.

The time era is the 70's.

Also some more evidence quoting Toni's mama, "He's out making people bleed, or at least trying to. He'll never be as tough as his Pop."

Tell me what you think.

you could be right, but it's not the 70's. it is 1998, as the wrote in the magazine.

edit:

i doubt your theory, because the voice actor, michael madsen, played toni in gta3, and returns in LCS confused.gif

Nice find! And as later posted in that thread, the mission news:

MISSION 1

We're rolling through the red [light] district, and true enough, it's familiar but different. We're outside Luigi's strip club, Sex Club 7 - the first place you visit in GTA3 - but Luigi isn't here yet. It's Paulie's Revue Bar and is run by JD O'Toole, a slimy pervert with links to the triads. He wants to get in with the Leone mob instead, so he tips you off about a Triad attack in St. Marks. It's nearby, so we head to AmmuNation and load up on Uzis. We rock up in the Sentinel, and Tony's henchman jumps out and stand guard while we decide to head off the attack before it arrives. Two waves of angry triads and several drive-by shootings later, a bulletproof patriot reaches the casino and plants a bomb. Boom! It wrecks the place, but doesn't demolish it. It's not enough for the gangsters. Relentless, they send another truck packed with explosives, parking it nearby - this one will bring the whole place down if it blows. How can we save the casino? Naturally we leap in the bomb truck and drive off, paying great attention to the timer and safe-distance meters. Once clear we park up and let it detonate near some innocent bystanders, saving considerable damage to Mafia property. Phew.

MISSION 2

We're back in the Sentinel, crusing over to Don Salvatore's mansion. He wants us to retrieve some cash from the docks at Atlantic Quays, so we take a dirt bike from his driveway and head down the hill. Across the water we can see Shoreside Vale- the draw distance is extremely impressive. Unfortunately, those bomb-happy Triads have rigged the warehouse, so collecting the cash packages is a race against time - allwhile fighting running battles. In the nick of time we dash out and the building goes up, damaging everything nearby. Ignoring the smoking cars, we steal a chopper, gassing it up and weaving madly to avoid the incoming wave of Belly Up fish vans. Eventually, with only minor civilian casualties, we reach the safety of Salvatore's mansion once again.

Sounds like air vehicles to me. inlove.gif

"Ignoring the smoking cars, we steal a chopper, gassing it up and weaving madly to avoid the incoming wave of Belly Up fish vans."

Sounds to me like they're talking about a chopper bike, not a helicopter. Also, from the interview with Dan Houser further on in the article:

OPS2: "Can we ask about aerial transport...?"

DAN: "I don't think we have it. Motorbikes are our big thing at this point. That requiring certain working of the map, and to do the other stuff would require more... it would end up..."

The question wasn't properly answered, but those two quotes from the article tell me heli's aren't in yet, and may not be. I think the problem he's refering to in saying "the other stuff would require more" is reference to the fact that most of the (taller) buildings don't have proper collision files, so you can't land on them. That just sounds lazy to me though, as the GTA:LC team have nearly sorted all of those problems out..

However, overall I'm pretty disappointed, as it seems that Rockstar are trying to keep production values down significantly and release a rehashed version of Vice City and GTA3.. I think it'll be pretty interesting to compare the GTA:LC files with those in GTA:LCS.. although on a more positive front it might be possible to port LCS to PC and XBox by taking player, ped and vehicle models and a few textures from LCS and reworking the main.scm... now that'd be cool! (that is, if it's not released on those platforms anyway)

@TWA - Where did hear hear Michael Madsen is confirmed for GTA:LCS? It's not in the OPS2UK article anywhere. I've also checked out his profile on IMDB, and it's not listed on there (although the game isn't on there yet either)

He did Driv3r,Resevior Dogs and Kill Bill.Something tells me it didn't phase him too much.I'm extremly impressed so far.Looks like GTA 3 with VC and SA thrown in.I really was expecting GTA III with a diffrent story.Kinda like GTA Advance was(in 3D).They could of went that way but they didn't.As far as the LC mod goes,I din't have a computer that can handle it and the PSP is a handheld,a computer is not.Plus this will have new missions and possibly new areas.New music and a new story.
