Here is the LS van (click for other cities):

You can only rob businesses on missions with Catalina, in the badlands.

here's what you do:

1) Go to the ITB (Inside Track Betting).

2) Do a little math and find your wager amount and bet it on the bottom most horse (usually 11/1 or 12/1 odds)

The horse has a 20% chance of winning just as the rest of the horses, but a much higher payout. You can usually win at least 2 races in 10-12 races total. If you bet 10% of your total purse prior to gambling, then you'll probably never run out of money. I will give you an example, which is similar to how I do it every time.

Gather up about $500 and head to the ITB.

Total Money = $500.

Gambling Allotment = $500*10% = $50.

Bet $50 on 11/1 horse and loose.

Bet $50 on 12/1 horse and loose.

Bet $50 on 12/1 horse and win $600.

Now I won.. yes, I lost $100 first, but now I'm sitting at an even $1000. ($500-$50-$50+$600=$1000)

Now $1000 > $500, so it's time to pick a new gambling allotment and keep going.

Total Money = $1000.

Gambling Allotment = $1000*10% = $100.

Bet $100 on 11/1 horse and loose.

Bet $100 on 11/1 horse and loose.

Bet $100 on 12/1 horse and loose.

Bet $100 on 12/1 horse and loose.

Bet $100 on 11/1 horse and win.

Now that was a pain, but I finally won another. I lost $400 and made $1100, that's a $700 profit. Now I have $1700 and a $170 allotment. However, myself, I'm superstitious kinda... I'd rather do a nice even $150 than a $170.

Bet $150 on 12/1 horse and loose.

Bet $150 on 11/1 horse and loose.

Bet $150 on 12/1 horse and win.

So I lost another $300 and won $1800.... that's another $1500 into the bank of $1700. Now I'm at $3200 in just 11 races...

As is, I started my new PC game with $350 before I went to ITB and turned it into some $7 mil.

EDIT:

The above method is a walk-thru guide for those that don't want to "cheat the game" by loading everytime they loose bank. However, if you'd rather purchase the house right dow the street from the ITB (near the park), you could save, go bet the farm and save if you win, load if you loose. This will, of course, have a much higher yeild but can be more time consuming (short term).

its VERY simple

i had about 100 grand, saved my game at a safe house near the fast track betting place, then went to the betting place and bet every dime i could on the last horse or one of the middle ones, if i didn't win, i just reloaded my game

in short i made 400 grand when i one the 1st time, then bet all THAT money using the same scheme, and im now left with about 3,220,000... all before i even left the badlands

I maxxed my money with that method ($999,999,999) but it took a few hours-- you hae to bet the max $9,999,995 and win 9 times (will win just under $120,000,000 each time you win)-- it is quite boring though.

just for the record... I've still used the method of betting a percentage of total money in possession since I started PC. I do agree that saving, betting max amount and reloading if you loose is a) more time consuming if horses keep loosing and b) exploiting the game... and a form of cheating.

Some don't care if they cheat, some don't consider saving/reloading cheating and will use the method, but no physical cheat codes.. others consider it a cheat and don't want to be cheated themselves...

Personally, atm, I have a lot of money... I currently bet 1mil each race (profits 11 or 12 mil on the long shot horse). I usually loose about 6-8 before I win, but that still nets 4-6 mil profit overall. I've been going up slowly... and rather than spending hours on end (IRL) sitting there gambling, or repeatedly pressing 10,000 bet button... I just hit up the ITB whenever I'm passing by and bet till I got more than I started with... usually I spend no more than 30 min and I'm back doing my own thing.

The betting stuff sounds fun and all but - I prefer just to cap the drug dealers hanging around town. Help clean up the streets and make buku bucks. The white guys in grey hoodies and black guys with gold chains and black tops are the dealers. I usually get 2k from each one I hit. Also although it takes alot more work the pimping missions add up quick. Not nearly as good or quick as just running around capping dealers but fun.

Mister Pink

Bet $9,999,995 on 12 to 1 with full luck and get about $119,000,000!!!It's great.

I'm only a bit sad that I reached max money.First they add one extra digit on the money 'bar' and then it just goes $999,999,9999.

Good thing though,I seemed to notice my crim rating go up when I won large sums of money:)I'm a proud O.G.

Tried this a couple of times, ended up losing all my money after one or two wins. The assumption that all horses have 20% chance of winning seems to be incorrect.

I concur that the above method is highly exaggerated, but it does work. If you keep betting 10% of what you walked in with, you will walk out a winner.

Two things have I tested though. First, you only are guaranteed to win just once and no more, so after you win, leave and go save your game. (At ITB, after I have won, I never won again; and i have tried multiple times. My max losing streak after winning was 27 races. cryani.gif)

Second, as far as I can tell, and strictly regarding ITB--I haven't placed bets anywhere else yet--horseshoes do not improve your odds regardless of what R* claims. angry.gif Before I collected any horseshoes (being they were inaccessible to me), on average, I had to bet on six races before I finally won. As soon as LV opened up, I collected all fifty horseshoes, and guess what? My average is still six races before I finally win. suicidal.gif (I'm just hoping that maybe these horseshoes improve my luck at other betting games. We shall see.)

O.o then how'd you bet 10% exactly? 10% would last 10 races... if you win one race, you win back 11 or 12 times your bet. You can loose the same bet 10 times and win once and you'll break even. I often find it difficult to loose 10 times in a row when betting on the same color horse.

That's exactly my point -- 10% lasts 10 races, and I keep losing all 10. Maybe I'll win once or twice (the 10% changing after every win, of course), but I always end up losing 10 races in a row cryani.gif

I can't find where this Inside Track Betting Place is. The icon in the java map says it's in front of the highway clover, but the only building I found that has an enterance is the one that leads to the helipad and the parachute on the roof. I'm on the Toreno Mission to buy the airfield, but I got 42g out the 80g I need to get the Airfield. Is this place unlocked later on and if so is robbing/buglarizing (don't know which word is the correct term notify.gif) the next best option to make money without cheating?
