For the (shameful) record, as I said in another post, I actually purchased a PS2 to play this game, but after days of frustration (couldn't get used to controller, couldn't make out anything on the mini-map, bad graphics, incredibly bad jaggies [i.e., no anti-aliasing], etc.), I finally give up and decided to wait for the PC version.

 

yes, generally speaking console ports are things to be avoided, but Rockstar always does right by us PC gamers.

 

Excuse me? Console port? Its the original stupid. You woulndt even have it for the pc if mr. gates hadnt realized that the game was making money. He simply snap his fingers and get the game quicker than you can say 'buy em out boys'. Bad graphics? what do you expect. Its the first, the original, the beta if you will. And whats all this about cant use the controller? Have you tried flying a helicopter using a keyboard? I found the PS2 controls the easiest ever. Stop slagging of the mini map when its going to be exactly the same on the pc. Instead of complaining about the bad graphics and "jiggies" try playing a game that hasnt been ripped completly

when you do a replay of the mission "fender ketchup" the guy on the hood is replaced by a ped standing.

I see a lot of different pictures with the sun.

But does anyone here have the lens effect if the camera is directed at the sun?

I never have that effect and I see in a few pictures that there is a sun glare. Does anyone here have the same thing?

It only does it when the sun is totally clear of any clouds, I've only seen it a dozen times so its possible you've just never been in the right place at the right time.

I am pretty sure it is called a Slamvan, or something like that. Don't know ecactly how you would go about finding one though, I eventually saw one in traffic and stole it while I could. I guess you could just look around until you found one.

also, the Song : 2 Minutes to Midnight was made in 1984 

 

it would make most sence if Rockstar put something up from the "Somewhere In Time" album instead which cam out in 1986 

 

i say Vice City 1985

Erm...Vice City is set in 1986, San Andreas in 1992, it offiacially states that in the intros of the games. Only GTA3 doesn't have an official time period.

V rock would not play that because if its the 86' as you say they would be playing something like Here

 

check the dates . i still belive that san andreas is in 94' on the back of the cover it says ' now its the early ninties' it can be both 92' and 94'

 

but whatever. its just a awesome parody game of the real world

No as far as the game is concerned, Vice City is set in 1986 while SA is set in 1992. These aren't the exact 1986 and 1992 as we may have known it but rather a satire filled snapshot of the whole 80's and whole 90's so of course there are small little things out of the stated timezone.

 

@BC - I took a long look at that trying to work out wtf it was until I relised it was just a car with nitro and massive amounts of speed blur. Looks kinda UFOish
