Well I said I'd take these pics and I finally got around to do just that

Last night just for grins I thought I'd just go get the SF's "Tactical Support Combat", "Grappling Hook Usage", and "Zip Line Usage" basic badges and if along the way I get the SF Assault Combat basic badge then so be it. Well I quit about 2hrs later with those badges plus a few others inlcuding; Commander basic badge, SF Anti-Tank Combat Badge basic, Staff Officer Ribbon and another Gold Star.

 

For anyone trying to get they Commander Badge basic and if you have SF, do so on Iron Gator. I got both the Commander basic badge and the Staff Officer Ribbon on that map in the same round. Just keep putting the UAV up over and over. After the 2x as Commander for winning, I had a score of around 130-140, you need 40 CO Pts for the badge and 50 CO Pts for the ribbon.

The shirt is an XL and I didn't get a choice of sizes but I'm glad it's an XL...it's what I wear.

 

Why did I get the CD-Rom version instead of the DVD-Rom? Because I don't like to play games having to use the CD but instead with a mounted ISO.

So it's easier and smaller to create a 700MB CD ISO as compared to a 2-3GB DVD ISO.

 

 

As for me getting badges; look like I said I suck at FPS games but I like them best. So when rewards the player with things like this I try to go, plus there is the fact that I can show them off, for what I know I can get and I can get them fast and easy and one after the other then that makes me feel good and that I'm making some progress...even though in the end I still know I suck.

Sorry if I keep talking about the badges/ribbons/medals but I can't be the only one trying to get one award or another for whatever reason. As for those 2 ribbons; I'm just really interested in what it takes to get them since no one seems to have a real answer. One FAQ I read said 24hrs in each theater (not true) and another just says "...playing the game for a short period..."

I have the DVD-version, but I wish that I had gotten the CD, because EA has some copyright-protection-thingy on their DVD's that completley fooks my player. The disc just spinns and "hacks" for like 5 minutes before it finally starts up. Annoying as hell.

 

Same goes for ALL EA-DVDs that I've tried. Guess it doesn't matter now anyway, since I ordered a brand new computer last thursday.

By the rules of the board all I'm allowed to tell you is that I use Alcohol120% to create the ISO and yes I used DaemonTools to mount it.

I hate warlord and ghost town. There is NO main feature in ghost town and its too cramped you just get whored by everything, warlord sucks, the palace is awesome but the rest of the map is sh*tty recycled.

 

Mass destruction is ok, you can get some decent kills but it also has no great feature I wish it had some underground bunker on the left where it looks like it should have one, I hate that the maps are small.

 

Iron gator is the only map I really have any fun in. As long as im SEALS or MEC SF that are already have a point on the ship. I got a 30 or so kills and 4 or so deaths in one round. The only TRUE new map.

 

But I much prefer going back into bf2 and playing the chinese maps.

Like something I find really fun with games like AA and BF42 sometimes is when you get a couple of guys and work together, using proper tactics.

 

One thing with Battlefield 42 is alot of it is people running around by themselves. It just feels unorganised and not as if you're immersed in a real battle. No tactics either.

 

Is BF2 like that, or has this new squad feature worked out so that a lot more tactics and teamwork are used?

I don't know what the problem was, but the game is running perfect now, perhaps it is that patch that fixed it. Anywho, I'm loving it, and apparently I'm best at being a medic

 

Appart from that, Engineer is fun.

Well often everyone just does what they want but if you create a squad and everyone who joins spawns on you and follows your lead it will be very fun. But it just sucks when people join a squad and dont follow the leader.

You're always going to have the "lone wolf", which btw BF2 has a stat for, in every FPS game. I've seen it in COD, all of the BF series, AA, ctf of UT and Quake. It's just a fact of life online.

 

Personally if I've got a crazy idea up my sleeve to help my team then I'll go off on my own. Other wise I'll try to stick with someone and hope that they will back me up as I will back them up, but even that doesn't always happen.

 

Many times I've seen people drive off in helo or some kind of transport land vehicle even though they see me there and I call for a ride. Then there is also the a-holes that even though you call for a medic will run right by you...same goes for resupplies.

 

 

I will have to say compared to BF42 and BFV, BF2 does have generally more team work.

Silly question; are you 100% sure you were on a ranked server? Also how did you leave the server? or did the awards just not show up in the game like they should have?

 

BTW where's the table at? I send both you and MissleDefender the code for it. All you have to do is copy&paste and it's done.

Did you have over 50 kills before you joined the server? From what i gather, you have to meet any global requierment before you join a server, and then the IAR requirement will triggers the award. That is why the ranks wont come on the exact number of points.

I sometimes play with an America clan with mics and stuff, its much better because tactics can be used. I was lowest ranked of course, and the highest ranked was shouting out our orders, and to be honest, it got me more kills because the rest of the team had my back kinda thing. There were 8 in the clan and it rocked, we should have it here. Go off rank and we all follow orders and cap the bases.

We do need a clan. Look at us! Were pinned with 100 pages and still going stong.

 

Plus the teamwork will get us better stats and we can learn more etc. Plus we can have varied kit etc.

I agree with the clan thing. Been asked to join a couple while playing but MUCH prefer playing with you guys.
