Exactly what GFX card do you have?

Just because it's 256MB doesn't mean jack.

If you read my last post, about my COD clan member having a GeForce 4 TI, it's a 128MB card which that part means the mini-requirments but that's all and the game will not play.

You can have a FX5600 256MB card and according to the requirments, it won't play.

 

Lowest end GFX you can have:

nVidia: FX 5700 series

ATI: 8500 or 9500

VRAM: 128MB

I'm not playing the demo and im not buying it. I just to be a huge fan of BF1942, but then i found my Call of Duty CD again and man...BF1942 is such a buggy, boring, and f*cking unrealistic piece of sh*t game. Theres countless bugs in BF that people have mentioned to EA time after time but typical lazy f*ck EA wont do anything about it. I'l just wait till COD2 comes out so i can belly laugh all over BF players.

What the hell is up with them trying to get to use "thier" drivers?

If I install the drivers from NVidia, I get shader problems.

If I install the drivers that came with the demo, all my other games run like sh*t.

 

I don't think I would buy this until they get it to work right with the drivers from the Nvidia.

Aye, downloaded it a while. Although the bots can definetly be retarded even on harder difficulties, it was pretty fun. A hack to remove the time limits would ideal, although I've done a lot of experimenting with every kind of soldiers. Finding a rooftop with any class seems to be the way to go, just gotta jump off when the airstrikes start.

 

Lot more fun than I thought being a Medic and trailing your squadmates reviving them. I think the class I hated worse was Support. The SAW can't hit sh*t.

 

Still not sure if I'll be buying this, singleplayer is fun and all but I don't know. Maybe by the time I get out of the dorms the price will be a little lower.

 

Runs perfectly fine on my P2.26ghz Radeon 9600xt with 512mb DDR RAM, on custom settings that look great.

I'm going to wait to update my nVidia drivers when nVidia offers them on thier web site.

I'm not sure what mean about the shader problem.

When I turned up my settings, which included turning on the shadows, the graphics were still smooth but the shadows looked jacked up. But that might be a fault of not installing the 77.30 drivers which I'll wait for to be on nVidia's site.

Both machine guns (SAW and PPK) have crazy recoil... just prone, shoot in bursts and it will be all good.

 

I've had lots of kills as support

That is until some pissed off sniper takes you out

At least a FX5700? Thats bullsh*t. Both my vid card and processor are outdated apparently, although I can run HL2 on pretty high settings flawlessly...

I haven't tried the solo yet, but I thought it was same map for both solo and multi.

It's exactly the same map only one is a smaller version with less in it.

 

I've basically been flying around, the jets are really good for air to air stuff but thats about it, you'll have to be good to bomb a target with em at the speed they go, 900mph!!! (you can see on the aim hud)

 

The helicopters are really good, especially the American ones. The Uh60 is a fantastic gun platform.

 

I was playing earlier today and I decided to take up a spot of sniping at the top of the crane. Unkown to me the flag below had been taken back by the MEC. Out of the corner of my eye i seen 3 dudes climbing the ladder up to my position so I layed the claymore trip mine on the ladder top and waited for them to come up, sure as hell they came up and got blown to hell, It was hilarious to watch the rag doll physics work there magic as they fell all the way down the ladder hitting off the metal frame in all manner of weird ways.

 

One dude got stuck have way down just hanging there, I could hear him shouting for medic too

 

So whats the weirdest deaths you have seen? I also seen a dude fly in the air and land with his legs over his head when he was crossing a bridge I blew up with c4.

The ragdoll physics do need to be tweaked greatly. They remind me of Max Payne 1, bodies and limbs landing in ways that are virtually impossible in real life.

I also won't mind seeing more gore, someone get nailed by an artillery round or a tank round body parts should be flying. Then again if someone lays down a land mine and person walks over it, it should go off too...something that should have been in the BF since day 1 but that's another story.

It sounds like you're using a limited used account. PB requires an admin account. If you can see if you can that changed. If it is already an admin account, as strange as this might sound, you might have a piece of spyware or even a virus that is tricking some software into thinking other wise.

I've seen first hand on someone else's system where a piece of spyware was the cause why I couldn't bring up the task manager saying it required admin rights, and this was the only account on the pre-built HP system so it was the admin account.

Open up the file gpm_cq.py with notepad, it's under Battlefield 2 Standalone Demo Server\mods\bf2\python\game\gamemodes

 

Locate the line

 

host.registerHandler('TimeLimitReached', onTimeLimitReached, 1)

 

Place a # in front of it so it appears like

 

#host.registerHandler('TimeLimitReached', onTimeLimitReached, 1)

 

This will make the 12 min timer still appear but once it hits 0:00 the clock will disappear and you will be able to play until the tickets expire.

I did the mod to remove the time limit, and it's great. This game is awesome. The feeling of the weapons and the way you can be revived is awesome. It's a complete 360 in terms of realism in my opinion, from not to realistic feeling, to fairly realistic feeling.

EA and GameSpy are about stupid and lame as sh*t.

It seems that if a server mods the server to remove the file limit (and possible other mods) they will block your server from being listed.

People can still join manually entering in the IP address, but that's it.

Even if you reset the server back to default you're still blocked.

 

EA should be thanking people from even running the server because more and more people are still getting the demo and they are going to want have a server to play on and if all of the servers a blocked because they think the 12min time limit was freakin' stupid to start with there won't be any where to play because all of the suck ups that didn't remove the lame time limit will be full.

Truely amazing game... from the ragdolls, To the bullet holes in walls, Metal Fences, And even Humvee windshields!

 

Being able to be a commander and call in artillery, Which is absouly devestating.

Whats a real wee bit of fun for me is the fact that, If you bail from a heli while your flying, Its engines continue to fly, therefore it stays in the air, The Cobra Spins round and round with no pilot, And the Black Hawk does a Black Hawk Down stunt... Spins out of control to the ground.

 

Just change from the Cockpit, to the gunner postion, And the heli starts to go into a spin.

Great for taking enemys out, the natural spin on the heli makes a perfect circle round a base, Acts pretty much like a Spectre gunship.

 

Also, In different vechiles the player skins change. A Mec tank gunner gets a wollen sort of hat that fits round the top of his head, and those large head phone like things that go over the top of your head to each ear.

 

As you can see in this Pic, The Black Hawk gunner gets an American Flag Hat, And a life jacket.
