Cojawfee Posted June 20, 2005 Share Posted June 20, 2005 I hate how the camera is so screwy when I am sprinting to my house, I end up getting stuck on a railing at the Johnson house. I finish a mission and I get home, of course I get one star for some reason, and since it is in riot mode my car catches on fire so I am down to almost no health. I run to my house and as I walk into the door my character slows down to walk in as slow as he can and leaves an open target for the police, they take away what health I had and I die about 15 feet away from the save disk. The Supply Lines mission... I hate this thing with a passion... I will never own a RC plane ever because I can't fly this stupid thing... just give me a sniper rifle and a car! 2. Stupidity of gang AI... not really my gang because I expect nothing out of them but other gangs during a territorial dispute when they decide to run back about 20 blocks so they can get a better angle. So I have to sit there and amuse my self for like a game day or two while they try to figure out a better way to attack me... 3. No turn signals! You are racing down the road or street when all of a sudden a car less than 10 feet away switches lanes and if you're on a bike, you learn to enjoy the road rash. 4. I know that some of the characters and NPAs are supposed to slightly represent famous movie land gang folk but I don't see it... they remind me of other people. One of your gang members has the cornrows and wears the green and black flannel... that is supposed to be homage to a guy from Menace to Society but it reminds me too much of Kriss Kross after their voices changed and they tried to be harder. The shirtless ped with the Kanga hat and the jogging pants... I think of LL Cool J each time (and did so in VC too) The ped (and he was also Madd Dogg's manager) with the black and yellow shirt is supposed to represent Tre Styles from Boyz in the Hood but if you look at him (especially in the Management Issues mission) he looks more like Will Smith... 5. Drug Dealers! For some reason I hate these guys and will blow them away every chance I get. I don't care much for the cash but just the whole attitude they are fronting (especially the white guy). 6. When a ped (including gang members) talk to you and then say "I thought you understood english" or some other smartass comment... I am sorry Mr. Ped but I can not answer you... and if I could it would only be a yes or no. Overall I think the game is great and I can ignore these things for the most part but they still annoy me every once in a while. It's irritating to have everyone marvelling at your skills throughout the song, but then when you miss one or two steps in the middle, some tart goes, "Weeell, you don't -totally- suck", etc etc... Too incongruous! - Indeed, cars not using blinkers is a real nuisance; this was scarcely ever a problem in Vice City, but it was nightmarish in Liberty City, and it's pretty irritating in San Andreas. You're trying to look after your gorgeous, hotted-up Banshee on the way to a date, and some dickhead in a Burrito thinks, "Hey! Why not change into the right lane here?! Look out world!!!" - What I hate, and I'm surprised that no-one's mentioned this (that I've seen), are the cars which, once dinged, will CHASE YOU DOWN. You bump a car, and suddenly you've got some retard in a station wagon who's made it his life's mission to chase you no matter how far you go! I make a point of stopping the car and slaughtering these people as brutally as I can manage. Who the F*CK thought that idea was realistic or desirable in an AI?! Hehehe... Me and my friend always thought he was meant to be a homage to the guy in Aphex Twin's Windowlicker video who's trying to chat up the girls by the roadside. Christ that video's great... - Like a lot of posters here, I hate it when gangers run way out of the territory you're fighting over, and you've either gotta risk the territory by dashing after them and hoping they mysteriously die on the way, or that you kill them in time, or you've gotta wait in the territory for forever and a day... There really should've been something in gangsters' coding to deter them from running a certain distance from the disputed territory. 5. Drug Dealers! I don't care much for the cash but just the whole attitude they are fronting (especially the white guy). - Oh, I agree, but I love shooting those assholes! It's a shame you don't see more of them early on in the game, 'cos I thought they were a great way to semi-legitimately pump up some of my more neglected gun skills (plus spare change!), towards the end. Who the hell still listens to Reggae to give it its own station? KJAH West kicks ass. Only song I don't like on KJAH is that spooky one with the singing woman, it's a bit shrill for me. I thought it was kinda cool that 'Pressure Drop' is on KJAH, since I had a version of that song in my Vice City mp3 list... Speaking of annoyances in radio... K ROSE is vile (although the DJ is amusing). Radio X could've chucked some indie in along with the 'alt rock', some of the crunchier Pavement tunes, that sorta thing... No biggie, but at least it would've pushed out 'Welcome to the Jungle' -- eesh! I generally really like Master Sounds, especially how it has two DJs who play different kinds of stuff, but that 'cheeba cheeba' song is awful. Vice City radio was funnier... but SA radio has its chuckles. Oh yeah, and I would've loved to have made seperate mp3 stations by putting subfolders in the mp3 folder -- I was hoping they'd do something like that this time 'round. At least they have a shuffle and track-skipping this time, which I guess makes some narrative sense too, since Tommy would be using tapes, and CJ could have CDs... - Rockstar's wilful abandonment of a perfectly good camera systems, and a previously-adequate plane-control system, really pisses me off. The camera isn't -much- of an issue with me anymore, but it still sucks that now I can't see in front of me when I go over a steep hill in San Fierro, whereas in Vice City it wouldn't even remotely have been an issue. My first grand theft auto game I played was VC biznatches! ahhaha. anyway, I learned to love and use the handling given out in VC, so i expected nonetheless in SA.....haha i was wrong. 1. Cars turn too much when i am trying a handbrake turn. then after its done (most of the time this happens when in a street race and I have to catch up to the pompus assfaces who got in front because of SA handling). 2. Planes steer too much to the left or right when using the "A" or the "D" keys (left & right). I dunno, it might of been on the Dodo in Vice city. I never really payed attention to that I guess.. lol 3. the view is too low in SA. Vice city, the 3rd person camera (placed behind the car) is in a perfect place. In SA it's too low.....WTF???ASFPLJAHSNFKL ANSCK lol anyway. 4. When I press "F" to get in a car and i change my mind because i dont want that car, CJ keeps walking towards the damn thing, even though I'm beating my keyboard with a baseball bat to say dont go over there anymore! Venting was fun. LMAO, i dont see why people honking horns is annoying to you guys lol doesn't even bother me one bit. The other big annoyance are the impatient bike cops who weave between cars. Even if the freaking cop hits YOU, you still get a wanted level Unless they're trying to mimic racial profiling (which I doubt ) I wish there was a way to turn down whatever randomizer is being used for police spawns.... I also make it a point to get out of the car and murder anyone who blows through a traffic light and hits me, especially after I had just modded or painted a car. I mean I know this is supposed to be america where everyone shoots on sight, but it's stupid. 3. The cars go into the outside lane to make a turn. 4. those dumb quadbikes in the catalina mission. (the Quads suck anyway) 5. The fact you get shot down within three miles of area 51. 6. The very childish jokes (the guys must have been twelve when they wrote them) 7. The fact trains don't appear at the same times each day. 8. The fact you have to go to the gym. 9. The fact that rosenburg is in it (he really gets on my tits). 10. Damn traffic. About 70% of driving, a car comes and hits or blocks your car, very annoying. Especially on the highway if I'm at top speed. In GTAIII and VC this didn't happen alot. 3. On the PS2 you can press > for a positive response or < for a negative response on the D-pad. Not sure what the commands would be for PC (probably Y or N). Too much rap. -How lowriders comprise about 70% of the cars in the game. The camera goes like right behind the car, so the car blocks the view of the road infront of you. Clothes changing, probably mentioned a lot too. This went well, up until I got into downtown Los Santos. Every time I got near the intersection to the freeway, I would clip a cab (who would promptly go insane and ram my lowrider until it exploded or was worthless), run into a pileup, or get a wanted star for some reason. I finnaly just decided to take an alternate route which totaly avoided going north, I went around Angle Pine and generaly avoided the crashing. I understand he's a base head, but what the hell? -Rockstar actually hired an Asian dude to play Wu Zi Mu, who has a straight accent. -On the mission "Drive Thru" Smoke pulls the food out of the f**king intercom. -San Fierro trams are just huge battering rams with wheels. -I can break lamp posts with my bare hands -I can't parachute from any height I want...Come on I wanna be able to just jump and pull the cord, lol. -Pressing Y or N (on PC version) doesn't actually reply yes or no sometimes, it'll just make you say the same thing but in a bad manner or good manner; this means that I can't buy drugs dammit. -Didier Sachs is only in Los Santos. -I didn't get to kill OG Loc -I can't hover in the jetpack unless I have a gamepad -My homies can't run and don't want to follow me -Toreno told me I could buy Verdant Meadows for a buck, but when I got there it was $80,000. -I have to stay 5 f**king feet off the ground just to keep down the visibility meter in the NOE mission. -The cop uniform doesn't do sh*t. -I want to strangle a cat every time I see that preppy ped girl with the fake cast on her arm. -You have to lose in an arcade game before you can exit it. -The only thing you can buy at convenience stores are in vending machines. -I can't break off locked doors, or hop in locked convertables. -Armored cars aren't bulletproof (at least in my experience). -Cops can shoot their pistol at me like a machine gun when on the bike. Why can't I do that? -On the timed vehicle school tests, it replays whatever part of the radio was going on before you failed when you restart. It's annoying to have it say "LOVE ISN'T ALWAYS ON TIME!!!!!!!!11!!" over and over again, rubbing in the fact that I can't burn and lap the f**king course in under 40 seconds. NO, I'M NOT CHANGING THE STATION. -Supply Lines, Freefall, New Model Army, and Cop Wheels make me pull my hair out and punch a hole in my monitor. -Where the f**k am I going in the countryside? I know my way around the cities, but once I get to the country or desert, it's like I'm on another planet and I have to refer to the map a lot. -I hate missions where you have to retrieve something from a dead guy, so you can't just easily blow them up. For example: On the mission where you take out Jizzy, I punctured his tires and he drove into the sea, making me fail because I didn't get his cell phone. The Will Smith thing is so true, but it doesn't really annoy me, it's more entertaining than annoying. Remember in VC (or was GTA III?) when you got money for killing people the cops chased? I miss that detail in SA. Why does the cops get mad at me for killing drug dealers? I'm doing them a favor here! I really enjoy all the radio stations, except SF-UR. I mean, seriously, there are good "electronic" music out there, and there was in 1992 too, so why the H*ll are they playing that crap? And I love the DJ's at K-JAH West. God Damn it f*cking sucks so much sh*t I can't even begin, save for: Bloodring and 8Track, I did the missions, but damned if I did not want to kick the sh*thead who changed the camera in the nuts for this. Vigilante missions: My guess it was probably the same brain dead f*cktard who did the hunter camera in vice city. What good is it to have the camera stick at the 10'o'clock position, when everything you are trying to shoot is in front of you? I tried doing the "tap reverse look", but the camera is even stupider than before. Who is the brain dead asshole who programmed this? At least in Vice City swinging the camera stayed a little, now it seems it goes out of its way to be stupid. Bikes: There is some diff, but damn it, let us have variety for the love of $deity. According to other threads they are all the same top speed. Bullsh*t. Cars: Specifically the completion of gold on the car school. Why is the Hotkinfe so damn lame? Try taking this thing on a hill in SF. I could get out an run faster, FFS. Skidding at 10mph? Please, get a clue R*. The barrel roll: What idiot put the hint as up/down key when left/right is what works? (mumble: f*cking moron) Draw distance: Still sucks having to dodge trees, or miss a secret because it does not draw properly. Read: "come a lot" area where I was looking right at it and it did not draw until I landed and waited. Might as well play GTA3 on a Pentium 133, it'd be less painful. Spawning: putting a foot cop in the middle of f*cking nowhere while I'm on a vigilante mission? Not a town for 10miles in any direction. A car/truck/suv I can understand, but one 5 feet from me when I let loose with the minigun? f*ck you, R*. Make matters worse, started vigilante mission in a tank, got to level 129 and had to eat, had 2 quick meals and my tank disappears. WTF? That, my dear friends is idiocy or incompetance beyond measure. After doing the major missions, and most (if not all)races....anyone notice that you'll be hauling ass along a road and cars now spawn backwards? Worse yet, some of the AI will drive into traffic like nothing is wrong. It <sarcasm> gets better: Running for dear life, and hauling ass in a bullet, the road ahead is clear, and you do a quick rearview check only to have a car in front of you right before you slam into it. Full speed, 1/2 speed or dead stop there will be a car there and you will hit it, or it will hit you. Grrrrrrr. Mission/garage/etc: Whoever bitched about CJ's stupid AI, well, AMEN! On a vigilante mission with the bike, and get a warning to get back on, and you are standing facing the bike, touching it, and hit the "enter" key and stupid motherf*cker goes running after a passing car!!! WTF!?!?!!? That has caused me more aggrivation than the blood ring, almost. Blood ring was fun when I figured out it is rigged and only one or two cars are what/who you are competing against, and all the others are fodder/annoyance. But to keep spawning cars, is IMO, bullsh*t. Honestly, Blood Ring pissed me off so much I hit my desk in frustration that I reset my computer 4 feet to the left of where I hit the desk. (until I figured out use the edge and your car's momentum, because you have the sh*ttiest car in the ring for everything but "strenght", and even then, if you get pinned you are screwed. But overall, fix the camera so it is a "fixed" camera. I'm so f*cking sick of having my camera reset when there are no obstacles/obstructions and I set it high to see ahead, only to have the damn thing slam down to road level for no reason. Jesusf*ckingchrist, R*, having a mouse camera makes drivebys impossible now. sh*t, I've got asdf as left/right/back fwd, and numpad 4/6/8/2 as look left/right and lead fwd back (*IGNORE* the fact you can not assign *ANYTHING* to Numpad 5 for some ungodly readon)...so what hand is left to use the mouse? molloni Posted July 1, 2005 Share Posted July 1, 2005 Hasn't anyone else been hit by a plane crashing near you? It's happened twice to me so far. One time on the edge of San Fierro near the radio tower - I was taking the picture of the photo op, and I heard a plane above. I turn around to see it on fire and heading right at me. Then CRASH! It crash landed and blew up right on top of me. A second time was down south well past Angel Pine on the way to Los Santos. I was poking around one of the shacks on that high way, and the same thing happened. At least that time I wasn't right where it crashed and I managed to survive with like 5% health...
