Beretta Posted June 1, 2005 Share Posted June 1, 2005 concerning the quality of the graphics, i am puzzled. in the ingame gameplay portion of the video i saw, none of the characters had ANY shadows, which you can also see in the grassy-screen before my post. I havent read the article since i dont have access to the mag, nor can i read german, but it is possible the video and screens were simply taken from a semi-complete version of the game. Magazines do those interviews, and previews weeks before the mag actually goes to print. The PC screenshots from R* clearly show a difference as well, if in no other area than the character shadows themselves. Thats my single biggest complaint, otherwise.....i dunno, what did you EXPECT it to look like? it has bigger textures, stencil shadows on the cars and dynamic objects, and from the R* star screens, realtime shadows for the player models. aside from that, its the same as the ps2, only in higher-res. yet many of you act disappointed. WTF man.....Why are you all so worried about visuals? It's the gameplay that counts! you have a point for sure, but the quality of the visuals can have an affect on the gameplay as well fun or not, if the player thinks the game doesnt look up to his/her standards, their enjoyment will be affected no matter what; especially PC users who spends hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on their machines; they want to feel they got their moneys worth. Well, i can see shadows here http://www.gta-san.net/newspics/lsd/lsdupl...50601135039.JPG in the screenshot i mentioned, and the last 10 seconds of actual ingame footage i saw in that short video, they were not present. i didnt say they didnt exist at all, but they were not clearly visible in the media i referenced. Er, why are the screenshots posted as tif's? @ 3mb a piece, its simply a waste. you can get 99% of that "quality" by using high-quality jpg's, at a fraction of the filesize The shadows are lighter yes, but the major difference is that they are realtime, and many objects in the scene are casting and recieving them. i would explain what this means and why its good, but tbh, i dont think you people would understand. look it up.
