Illuminatus
I'm head Art and Design prefect at my school, and they are currently looking into purchasing a 3D modelling program. It would be used for both modelling objects, similar to game mods, for the Graphic design department, and more abstract work, in art department. But getting to the point, I need to know what program is the best for this. I've looked around, and noticed that 3D Studio Max and Cinema 4D seem to be the most widely used, but I'm unsure of what program is the best to use for the above criteria, any other programs are welcome to be metioned. The price isn't a major factor in the decision, a grant that we recieved a month or two ago ensures we have a few grand to spend on it. TheGuyFromThere
3DS Max definitley. Then invest in a good render engine like Cebas' finalRender. There are good free ones too, Vray and MentalRay (MR comes with max) But yea, definitley max. Moto
Max. There are good educational resellers for them, as well. But learning it is difficult if you just start with it, I started with a much easier program, then moved on to max, but I imagine you don't want to do that. Tsuroki
Max. For sure. From what I've seen so far (tooling with it at school), it's complex as hell - but there's more support for it (education wise) than anything else. Moto: Anim8or shouldn't count as a program.
