it's clearly fake , u see the ps2 menu with the pc version cannot have , u see the "game" option in the menu with the ps2 version needs for loading and starting a new game well the pc version does not automatically start a game like ps2 one does it hat first the main menu .

if u look close u see black edges on the screen as if the image is moved a little as i would be if u had not calibrated the monitor for the resolution , this effect does not appear on all screens.

my guess either those are screenshots or the ppl were using a tv tuner . one of the screens i think i saw it somewhere ... and the main menu has no mouse poiner .

that can be edited with ease : find the font , write whatever you want , align it . it can be done even in paint .

ps . what's with the language option it's in ps2 pal version also .

PPS . the numbers are kinda small in comparison to the font

Indeed. The only thing I find a little questionable is that Rockstar apparently dropped the draw distance slider, and really changed the menu layout, neither of which are impossible. I wouldn't say I'm convinced these are real, but it's nice to hope.

If it is real I hope the contact details have been passed onto R* by the guys at GTANet...

I believe its a fake. However, it is obvious that a pirated version is going to come out in a few days anyway online, so whoever faked it can't look bad. Smart plan devil.gif

Notice how the text in the upper left corner is more distorted than the rest of the image:

The text probably says "Hit Triangle to start police missions" or something like that with the PS2 controls still intact. confused.gif

Not really, it all looks pretty distorted to me..

But I still reckon they are fake. smile.gif

just some observations on the comments in this thread:

1. the pictures look extremely real. it would be VERY hard to doctor the menu like that

2. you guys are saying the draw distance isnt in the menu, perhaps there is another advanced menu with further graphic controls

3. to the comment about the text looking fuzzy in the top left of one of the screenshots, look at the map in the bottom left of the screen - its blurry as well

honestly guys, it looks like the guy has it

Notice that gtasanandreas.net has removed the article about a leaked version of San Andreas... Sounds to me like Rockstar has contacted them asking them to remove the article...

They could have just edited the article instead of removing it completly otherwise.

Easiest way to prove the existance of a leaked PC version would be to make simple, hi-res screenshots, not blurry photos with a cheap cam from such a distance. Clearly fake.

thats my guess.

for those of you pointing out the menu differences, maybe R* changed them?

(btw, you can make the mouse cursor disappear simply by navigating the menu with the keyboard, go try it on vice or gta3)

you'd think that, but when vice was leaked, that didnt happen. even when it was proved to be legit, there were never any hi res screens. some people just dont have the common sense.

it doesnt matter. the only way to prove it one way or the other, would be to find a copy, download, and post your "own" screens, for which you would be isntantly banned from here, and mostly likely in deep trouble with R*.

in 2 weeks we can do legit comparisons.

i really dont see how those can be fake. its fairly obvious they were forced to take down the news by R*. in another forum, it has been mentioned that certain stores are already selling the game. anyway, guess well see what happens in the next few days

yeah jordan is probably right cause vc and gta3 insited on using the caps lock or the tab button for the extra mission (including vigilante ones) so the text should be considerably larger, even though the whole image blurred the text is blurred twice as much.

but only GOD and rahkstar2.gif can tell us whether this is true or not biggrin.gif

i think its real

if you notice, beside his monitor he has one of those guns that reads bar codes

and one of those machines and makes receipts

so he's probably in a store or something...

got it early and leaked it?

I saw the game in the glendale galleria in california, the game is out on the shelves but didnt have enough cash on me to buy it. It wasnt a preorder box.

mase: That looks like a microphone to me.

I'd think it would be a bit early for a leak, but notice theres no "Restore Defaults" option in the menu and the format for the resolution is "1024 x 768" in GTA3 and VC the format would be like "1024 x 768 x 16". Maybe I am wrong, but those are a couple things I noticed.

thats fake...

the options menu doesnt have all the PC options:

-the resolution setting does not include the color deph [16 or 32...],its impossible that this option has been dropped out

-there is no Draw distance setting [and there must be in the PC version]

-the numbers are smaller then the rest of the fonts...in all of the GTA games the size of the numbers was the same as the rest of the fonts

-there is no "reset to default" option

-ummm,where`s the mouse coursor?

-the screenshot that was taken during "gameplay" is cleary fake...how come it is so "blurry" even though the menu screen that they took was very clear?how come the text in the upper right corner of the screen is blurry?because it says somthing about the PS2 controls,so they had to blur it.

also-if the picture was clear,we could easly notice the low graphics of the PS2 version...

-if this thing was taken from the PC version, they simply could have taken a screenshot using the "print screen" key....but in the PS2 it is impossible...

that is NOT a microphone

just look at its size, and what type of microphone has a detachable wire ?

and why does he have a roll of receipts next to a little machine that obviously prints out them?

its most likely a work PC
