Ok,. No matter what I do I can't seem to get past this mission and I've been at it for 3 days now. I'm at the point where I am a perfect driver and moving along as fast as possible with people and cars in the way, but each time I get ready to head for the third phone I only have around 40 seconds to get there which will only take me around halfway. I've experimented with shortcuts and have memorized the best ways and still nothing.

 

Is there any cheat, any download, anything that will put me past this mission? Does anyone have any videos or pictures of the route they take? I don't want this to be the end of my GTA3 career! Would 4 or 5 whole minutes have been so bad?

EDIIT: I finally did it with 5 seconds to spare. Phew.

What car do you use for this mission? You never said and the car is very important because there are fast cars and there are slow cars. For this mission i always use the Banshee as it is both fast yet easy to handle but the cheater, stinger and infurnus will do ok as well. Well you have to remember where all the phones are as it will give you a better idea of what route you will take.

 

Phone 1 - Is in Torrington the building to the right of the Subway and billboards.

Phone 2 - Is along road leading to the bridge to shoreside vale (the bridge with the lift). Just before you turn to go up.

Phone 3 - Is in Liberty Campus

Phone 4 - Is at the start of the road leading to Donald Loves building. Just opposite the park.

 

The route really isn't a difficult one you just have to make sure you have a fast enough car The first few times i did it in an idaho or stallion but they were not quick enough now i stick with the banshee on any mission where i need speed.

In order to have the best chance to beat this mission, know the streets of Staunton extensively, and use the handbrake a lot (right-click for PC Version). You stop the car faster this way, and it shaves seconds off your time.

Yeah, I feel like I'm missing something after attempting the mission hundreds of times I have everything memorized, but I still can't make the time. I'm going to go through in a sec and see if I can find some short cuts I hadn't noticed before and I will try the hand break thing. Thank you I didn't know about it.

Well like Bar said you really should know the roads pretty well however if this is the first time playing them game then i understand. In my first few attempts i always lost time getting to the 3rd phone the one on Liberty Campus. But now that Bar has given you a picture of where the phones are ride around to them before you do the mission so you know where each phone is. Do dry runs even if it helps.

 

But as well as that your handling on the car really has to come in to place so like Bar said use the Handbreak instead of the reverse button.....on my pc i'd B but i changed the controls to suite me so your Hand break may be something different. Um instead of just driving up to the phone when you stop instead of just stopping always stop in the direction of your next phone so if your going to phone 1 turn the car around pointing towards newport. It doesn't have to be exactly facing but if in the general direction so you don't have to waste time turning.

 

As for short cuts um well the only short cut i used was when going to phone 3 because thats the only one that really needs it. U m instead of using the road to get to the campus after you come of the phone drive down that grassy hill area in front of you (under the turn going up to the lift bridge) to the road behind the park but heading towards the campus/stadium thing.

 

The rest is pretty str8 forward the route is pretty easy after you do it. Since doing that mission have have done the game 3 times (just completed the game yesterday for the 3rd time) and i ace that mission every time now. So it's not majorly difficult.
