Here are some more pictures from all the fights (the undercards and Gatti/Mayweather) from yesterday night. (Thank you Fightnews)

Are there any big fights this week? All that I can think of is Samuel Peter vs Taures Sykes but that's not exactly big lol.

Ice.... Mayweather held Gatti's head down and hit him...Gatti stared at the ref waiting for him to warn Mayweather... the rule is "protect yourself at all times"... The ref didnt step in so mayweather hooked gatti and gatti went down...cause gatti wasnt really paying too much attention...

and yes...it was really that bad...Gatti looked worse than that....that was after they did some great work on his face...

That was more of a beating that I thought was possible.

What was really crazy about it was Gattis condition while he stumbled to his corner after the 6th round. I looked plain sick to his stomach, or just plain in another world..

What about Vivian Harris though?? That was just ridiculous. As someone who isnt a fan of his at all, I was actually happy to see his ass get exposed..

All that sh*t he talked about Hatton.. If he couldnt punch 3 rounds against a nobody, Hatton would have eaten him alive in 4-6 rounds.

Now to see if there is even a remote chance that Hatton/Mayweather will get signed. Mayweather wont go to England, but I can see Hatton coming over this way if worse comes to worse. I dont give him too much of a chance but I love the guy and he would bring 80x more to the table than Gatti would. Id be routing for him.

I think if Hatton vs Mayweather was a PPV card, I might actually consider buying it. Of course, having a good undercard would be a great addition, hell if they added Miguel Cotto vs Maussa and Klitschko vs Barrett/Rahman....well I think that'd be a pretty sick card. But I think Harris has a rematch or something with Maussa probably. One thing about Maussa though, that guy got an iron chin. Other then that...nothing special.

I got that mayweather gatti fight, I knew i shouldnt of tho. Gatti had somthing like 10 power punchs to mayweathers 120..(somthing like that.) gatti was never in the fight once. there was a knock down in round 1 because gatti thought the ref was coming to break them apart, it wasnt agood strong knockdown but his knee touched. When they went to there corners after round 6 Gattis corner was like "im going to stop it man" im going to stop the fight" they said that like 5 - 6 times and Gatti didnt say nothing so that was it. they stoped the fight.

in an unrelated story, look what I found

I got $30 on hopkins.

Id like to see Winky Right give it to Mayweather. It could happen.

But to be honest I want to see Winky fight Hopkins after Hopkins whoops Taylor next weekend.

I recently changed my mind on the Hopkins/Taylor fight...I now believe Taylor will win this by UD. I have a feeling Bernard is going to have a bad night on the 16th (I think that's the date) It's just an instinct wink.gif

A Winky Wright vs Floyd Mayweather fight would be very interesting, Winky's got probably one of the best defenses but PBF is very skilled and could find a way to counter. Wright hasn't let me down though so I would say Wright by UD.

Your not in the minority thinking hopkins is going to loose this one.

And i got to agree it seems the trend as of lately...( mosley/wright...jones/tarver...

just to name a couple.

Just to see were you guys stand, Wich of these would be fights you would like to see?

(And in what order)

  • Pacquaio Vs. Morales 2
  • Jones Vs. Tarver 3
  • Wright Vs. Mayweather
  • Vatali K. Vs. J. Tony
  • Chavez Jr Vs. Varges
  • "Your Choice"
Speaking of Chavez JR. That kid will be one of the greats some day.

Considering he only fights 6 round fights I think Varges would be a huge step for him, imo Its way to soon for a barrera.

And now that I think about it, Id like to see Mayorga fight Anybody, I really like that dude.

Wright-Mayweather would be a good fight, but I think Roy Jones vs. Antonio Tarver would be the most interesting. Jones wants to reclaim his throne and I think he is too proud to end his career on a downward note. I think he would love to avenge his loss and retire as champion. Tarver is coming off beating Glen Williams, so he has proved himself to be the best in that division.

Hey, how about Danny Williams vs. Kevin McBride? Lol. The two tyson beaters going up against eachother. Fight of the century, anyone? lol.gif

Lmao @ Kevin McBride...Cuse..he should fight Riddick Bowe, then Oliver McCall, then Evander Holyfield. If he beats them all then we can call him 'The Washed Up Legend Killer'. Speaking of the Brixton Bomber (I think that's Danny's nickname)..isn't he fighting the strong Matt Skelton in a couple of weeks? That should be a good fight.. I say Williams because he does have heart...He was getting his ass kicked by Vitali but he still kept fighting.

I'm sick of all the decent fights going on PPV...it's just stupid. There are very few fights that should be PPV, I don't believe the Rahman-Barrett card is PPV..It's a decent fight but not worth 50 bucks or however much it is.

Yeah, B-I and I were discussing the whole PPV situation on MSN. It's rediculous. You can barely watch a good fight, let alone a great one. Basically the best fights you can watch are Friday Night Fights, and only some of those fights are good. I mean, I like to watch Boxing, but I don't really want to pay for every decent fight on TV.

Chavez JR vs Vargas?? dontgetit.gif

Check out Chavez JR's record. Even though El Feroz isnt his old self, he would still annihilate Chavez JR, its way too early in his career and he hasnt even fought anyone remotly as talented as Vargas. Not to mention they are in completely different weight classes...

Mayweather and Wright are also too far off to fight eachother anytime in the next couple of years.

Pacman/Morales II for sure. Go Morales.

Toney/Klitschko for sure. Go James. I dont care if hes the underdog, I hate Klitschko. His talent could very well win this one if he gets a full training period.

No interest whatsoever in Jones/Tarver 3. Id still watch it if it was free.

My choice?? MAYWEATHER/HATTON. Mayweather will be heavy favorite but I will route Hatton on till the end. This could resemble Mayweather/Castillo I. If Hatton can stay close this will be a very interesting fight. He brings 80x more to the table than Gatti does.

I also dont think Hopkins will lose, in fact I think he will put on quite a surprisingly aggressive performance. People have to look at the difference in experiance and style before youth and a good jab. Hopkins has fought every style of fighter there is, while Jermaine will be fighting his FIRST big fight, and this jump up in competition for him is quite large.

Jermaine could definatly win but I think he will be nervous(he already is, watch the pressers), and Hopkins will more than take advantage of that. Hopkins by UD.

Vitali cant fight Toney....thats not even fair to toney... Vitali is like a f*ckin foot taller than Toney...and a hell of a lot better of a Boxer.... Vitali isn't really gunna fight n e one who has a belt that belongs to Don King cause Don King is an ass and doesnt respect the Klitchko brothers... Vitali will beat any heavyweight out there

as far as Hopkins Taylor i think Hopkins will win...dont kno how...

If Wright fought Mayweather... i doubt it would b a UD either way....itd b a close ass fight... Where Wright falls behind in skill, he makes up for with the fact that he's a southpaw.... honestly tho i think Mayweather is too quick.... definatly a close fight... and this time i mean it wink.gif

I dont think Jones Tarver 3 would ever happen because of the contrevercy of the first decision combined with the beating Tarver gave him the second time around...its pretty obvious who the better fighter is now...

@The Klitschko Thing- I like the guy and all but I'm not going to say he can beat EVERY heavyweight out there. He still hasn't proved much to me with beating Corrie Sanders, an over-weight journeyman, and Danny Williams (Williams vs Klitschko...what a joke) Once Klitschko beats Rahman/Barrett convincingly, then I will give him the respect. HOWEVER, if he does take a fight with Maskaev..f*ck him. Even though Vit Klit would win, I would cheer for Big O the entire fight.

@Mayweather- Right now, I think everyone wants to see Mayweather fight again..hell I know I would like to see him fight live.

@Jones/Tarver- I'm not really interested in this fight, it would be lop-sided if you ask me.

Toney would be a match for Vitali in my opinion.

Height dont matter.

Its skills at the end of the day,James maybe a 5 foot 9 230 pound midget but his skills are second to none.

He is also hard to hit as a 7 foot Heavyweight in sparring had trouble hitting him as James leaned to the side to shift his weight and James also handled him with ease. But thats also when he injured his knee.

If he can survive the first 6 rounds against Vitali who tires after a couple of rounds then id think Toney would outbox him.

James Toney isnt a Don King fighter,His is promoter is Dan Goosen. He only fought for Don King against John Ruiz cause King is Ruiz's promoter.

Hey everyone, I'm leaving this weekend so I'd like to get these two things out here before I go:

1) Did anyone else hear that Kendall Gill (former NBA player. pretty good one at that) is a boxer now? He actually won his first bout by KO in the 2nd round I think. I just thought that was interesting.

2) what is the best match anyone has ever been at live? I hope this gets some good responses. I've been to two pretty good ones. One was Demetrius "The Gladiator" Hopkins (Bernard's nephew, still undefeated) vs. Al "Speedy" (great nickname) Gonzales, who was also undefeated at the time. Gonzales is from Chicago, so basically everyone was cheering for him. They slugged it out for seven rounds until the fight was stopped due to an inadvertant headbutt that caused a gash over Gonzales eye. Hopkins won a split decision I think, but the crazy part was afterwards. A bunch of fans started throwing water bottles and cups of beer into the ring! One actually hit Hopkins' manager or something, so they had to run out of the ring. It was crazy

The other one was Wilfredo Rivera vs. Freddy "Boom Boom" Cuevas. Freddy is also from Chicago, so everyone was pulling for him. Rivera dominated the fight though. It was three years ago, but as I remember Cuevas was staggered at least five times through the first six rounds. It wasn't really close. Then in the 7th round (out of 12), Freddy threw a left hook out of nowhere that completely caught Rivera off-guard. You could see he was just stunned on his feet. Then Freddy threw him a right and he was down. He tried to get up but just managed to stagger for a second then fall back down. Freddy won some kind of belt and there was a big celebration in the ring. It was an unbelieveable comeback.

Hope those were interesting even though they were long. Now your guys' turn.

@Kendal Gill- It was a TKO 1 over some dude who sucks. I saw some highlights of the fight and well, it wasn't that impressive. However, Gill is just doing this because he loves boxing, he said it himself that he isn't trying to win a title or anything. I respect him for that because he would seriously get his ass kicked if he fought a contender.

@best fight I've ever seen- I got to think back about that one, I became a big boxing fan a couple of months ago.

@Demetrius Hopkins- That dude is Bernard's cousin? I saw Dem fight on HBO latino, he's not too bad.

i kno toney isnt under King...but the heavyweight title holders are all Don King fighters but Vitali (remember, Toney ; Ruiz was flipped to a No Contest because of Toney's lil steroid problem) ... also its a rediculous mismatch....skill can only take u so far... Toney would kill himself if he went in there with Vitali... hes way too small to b beat on by a guy the size of Vitali... thats like Lennox Lewis and Roy Jones...sure everyone would have loved to see it....but even before everyone knew how bad Jones' chin was at the end of his career.... He would kill himself in there ...

Peter vs Sykes is this weekend, this year there have been a lot of upsets so I'm not going to be too shocked if Sykes somehow wins this fight. I was browsing through some fights and I saw a very interesting picture of the two at todays presser.

Excuses. Pac and his team were HORRIBLE for it after that fight. This guy will never lose a fight and take it like a man.

Im a fan of his, but gloves would have made no difference. Morales is a f*cking warrior. As easily as people can use the glove excuse, one can say that Morales would have knocked Pacquiao out of they had have used the Reyes'..

About Toney/Klit. People can not belive in Toney, thats fine. He is a huge underdog. But with a proper training period, and his nearly second to none natural boxing talent, he has more than a shot to dethrone frankenstein. Size aside.

As far as Peter/Sykes go. I think Peter could get upset at any time. Though Sykes isnt a huge step up from the jobbers he's been fighting, its still a step up. Peter is highly overated and throws nothing but lumbering haymakers. Of course hes hit a couple people with them so people want to get all over it. Wait till he fights someone that can take advantage of his horrible, horrible footwork and movement.

Well, Taraus Sykes just got whooped. Peter KOed him in Round 2 (didn't get to see the fight though) I'm looking for some pictures of it right now but I read that Peter had a barrage of punches and knocked Sykes out. I personally would like to see Peter fight Audley Harrison in a rematch of the 2000 Olympics where Audley had beaten Sam. Both fighters have not fought that hard competetion and whoever would win would be considered a true contender.

I'm suprised if he is even thinking, the guy has had a great career and there is NO need to do this. Unless he NEEDS the money, he should not do this. I really don't see what the point of this is.
