Firefox extension now available

Wheelman

Recommended Posts

For those of you using the Mozilla Firefox web browser, there is now an exciting new extension available which is tailored to gtaforums.com.

Crafted by our very own PatrickW, the extension is ideal for those who visit gtaforums regularly, and/or use many tables, bullets, or tags in general. Instead of manually figuring out the necessary code and tags to make your post appear as you desire, you can now simply right-click and apply the relevant formatting from the context menu.

The extension is compatible with Firefox versions 0.9 - 1.0, and is available from it's own Mozilla Update webpage.

For full details and instructions, please first visit the dedicated topic for GTAforums Firefox 1.0 extension.

Many thanks to PatrickW for creating the extension.

This is good, if you download it from the mozilla site, you should leave a comment, or at least rate it. I'm glad somebody (Wheelman) put this here, the pinnned topic just wasn't enough.

@PatrickW

To save myself a warning, and to save on page loads, just assume that I put 400 cookies in this post.

Wait, when I try using the spoiler tag, it doesn't work. I don't get it.

See, I'm using the spoiler right now

<span class="spoiler" onmouseover="this.style.color='#FFFFFF';" onmouseout="this.style.color=this.style.backgroundColor='#000000'">Let's see if the spoiler tag works for me.</span>

This is a pretty f*cking awesome extension patrick. Excellent work.

No, it doesn't. Hmm.. let's try it manually. Woo hoo

Yeah, it works when I do it manually... but not when I use the program. Weird.

It's basically the FF BBcode extension... sleepy.gif

I was going to say that but I didn't want to get a bunch of nonsense in return.

Seeing as how this version has several other features such as the table making code, the spoiler tags, the me tags, alignment tags etc... no, it's not basically the BBCode extension.

No its that plus more, I had the original BBCode extension and while yes it had your basic codes it lacked GTAF specific ones.

Yes, it is the BBCode extension, tailored to gtaforums.com. With Addition of several custom gta-hack support...

spoiler-test

manual test

Works for me, although not in the preview window.

The next version (pending approval by the mozilla update site) will have improved functionality, with respect to cursor placement and selection handling. I've communicated this stuff with jed brown (BBcode) author, and he'll include that stuff also in the upcoming BBcode 0.4 version, which should be out shortly.

before I forget, thanks for all the nice words everyone.

Wow, the updated version is even better. The new table code is very handy.

Once again, awesome work, Patrick. smile.gif
