Help needed

Earlier this night i tried messing around with Photoshop for the first time ever, and ended up making me a sig.

I just have a question.

 

This is the sig.

 

My question is that, i found the original image on google, and cropped it, is that ripping? If so, does that mean i cant use the sig?

I wouldn't have thought, if you've taken an image and changed it, it's ripping.. it's better to check with anuj or pap.

That looks like a render with some 2d work on it, so I'd say it's very much ripping.
