A few things I wish to know.

Citizens helps the cops

Ok, here what I want to do. I want to make so that when Cops chases me, I want all car to chase me aswell. It's that possible?

Stalkers

I want to make random cars stalk me. Like, a random car follows me where every I go.

Races

I plan to remake Vice Raceway. Instead of asking some to create a race for me. I want know if how to make a race of my own or to move a race in vice city to my course. I want to do a bike race. Where you can only race if you have an Angel, Freeway, Faggio, or PCJ600.

This sound very interesting... I guess you could use opcode

053E: [email protected] = get_random_car_with_actors -1 in_area [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected]

to obtain the handle of cars around the player and use the drive_to opcode to keep them driving to the current player-position.

I'm very temped to code it myself, but i don't wanne be stealing your ideas smile.gif...

 

Stalkers

Basicly the same as above, only this time, you only pick one vehicle, and let it keep drive_to a position 5-10 units behind your vehicle. ( or to your current position if you want him to keep bumping into you.

The best method would be to convert one of the available race missions, but before you'll be able to do that you have to study it, and make sure you understand everything that happens in the mission. At that point you should be able to easily customise it with a new location and vehicle restrictions.

Where are the races in the main.scm?

The races are mainly in their missions, so you can just search for the name of the mission you want to use (this works, because the original mission names are included in comment above each mission).

You could for example use "Alloy Wheels of Steel" which would lead you to the code of mission 53, and that might be a good candidate to build your race upon.

 

 

And where can I find this drive to opcode.

Use MB's F1 functionality to find opcodes!, type "drive_to" and hit F1 to step through the appropriate opcodes...

You'll have to indeed make a new thread.

 

And you need a bit more than just copy/paste the two codes I gave you.

From your question I thinnk you first need to work through some tutorials to get the hang of SCM coding. I would advice you to work through the tutorials in this pinned topic.

You should work your way opto Craig kostelecky's tutorial on thread programming.

 

You really need to put some effort into acquiring SCM skills if you want to code the ideas you have.

Rc Bandit, etc

Is there anyway to drive those at will? Or is there a way to remove the range on the RC bandit?

I've seen some mods in the past that allowed you to drive any of the RC vehicle's at will, without any range limits. I'll have to admit that I don't have the names of those mods available, but yeah... it is possible..

The RC cars don't have a limit on their range, it is added on in the mission.

 

I THINK 058F is get_random_actor_in_area, just assign that actor a value then use

01B2: give_actor $actor weapon 3 ammo 38

on your newly assigned actor.

I don't get it. I don't care anymore. Someone else can do this. I quit. I'm just going fail it if I try. Just like I fail any everything I do. No on even liked my Vice Raceway.

tounge.gif All right. You win. I'll try to do this. I just have one more question. Will this work with MB v0.22? I would use MBv1.5, but MBv1.5 doesn't work the Carmod made by Dremest.

There is a code converter function built into the newer versions of MB. You can open your 0.22 text file and click on the source converter. The program will then generate a new text file that is in 1.5 format.

Or you can easilly use 0.22 - I do (I was very annoyed when the LC script updated).

 

Apparently there is a memory bug in it, but only Barton knows about it and refuses to tell anyone what it is.

 

There are also a few minor differences, such as the way it represents types of numbers.

 

If you want more info on it, read some of the pinned tutorials - most of mine were written in 0.22

I see. So, I would do it like this? Also, is this for the Citizen helps cops things?

That code will get a random car from within a square of side 500 units, where the player is in the middle, then it gets that car to follow the player.
