Svip Posted April 19, 2005 Share Posted April 19, 2005 The stable Open Source version 2.0.0 of Civilization is out. FreeCiv.org Now with a Windows installation file ( for all you Windows users ). FreeCiv is much like Civilization II, but has some features none of the Sid Meier's Civilization games has. For instance when a nation is pressed ( both by war or politicaly ) a rebel group may arise and make their own nation ( as an ai ). The game is great to play online in, as people can constantly join and leave, if someone leaves the player is left as an AI, but if another comes, he/she can take over and use the player as control. In fact, this Civilization game is much better suited for online play than Sid Meier's games, which are best for single player. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Some (Svip) should try and suss out the network mode so we don't have too many problems. If it's a hit then we can have a decent meet at the weekend. Although ill have to learn the game first, no clue what Civilation or this is. Anyone care to explain? Whenever i press "start game" Norton comes with a trojan horse message, that says it blocked a trojan . Svip Posted April 20, 2005 Author Share Posted April 20, 2005 Civilization is a game where you take control of a Civilization to stand the test of time. You play from 4000 BC to 2000 AD. You then research new techs, etc. You can win in verious ways. E.g. Depomatic ( being the most leading in friendship and relations, also trade is a help here, basically it means who has the highest score ) or Domemation ( the one who controls most of the planet ). You need to do a lot untill you get to victory; build cities, control your people, keep the enemies at bay, and your friends close, and a hell lot of other crap.
