I worked out that the amount of space used on the first HDD (including hidden files/folders) was 2846.5MB and since my HDD was a 6GB capacity one, there should've been 3153.5MB of free space left. Yet in the sidebar, under details its says there is only 926MB of free space left. So what I'm trying to figure out is, where has my other 2227.5MB of space gone? Its the same deal with my second hard drive, that one is missing 722.1MB of space. I need all the space I can get, seeing as I already have so little of it. I recovered around 400mb after emptying the recycle bin, but still, wheres the rest of it gone? Any help would be great. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

fido2 Posted April 19, 2005 Share Posted April 19, 2005 (edited) Try defragging, it will shrink the size of the files you already have, but the usage of a drive is worked out by the file's sizes on disk so it won't solve your problem. PresidentKiller Posted April 20, 2005 Share Posted April 20, 2005 Maybe it's System Restore... if you disable it or give it less hard disk space, you'll regain a considerable amount of free space.
