Actually I always thought you had the best quality capture..

I'm not too happy with it, my draw distance seems really bad and the brightness is washed out. I can barely play at night... Nin's midnight club race was infuriating!

 

But I'm glad it looks good to you guys.

for the sake of keeping a clear view of the road, i'm all for that

sun/clear skies cheat on ps2...not sure if we'll be able to turn that off

in the pc version, but captures there should be less influenced ...

Hey guys, Mxyzptlk mentioned that you're doing a race with the Pheonix, and if any of you could do me a favor I'd really appreciate it.

 

I made a topic about all the cars with parts that are randomly spawned. Parts you can't change yourself. Here.

 

And someone mentioned that the Pheonix has an "aluminum racing" type steering wheel. Now if they all have it, and it doesn't ever change, then it doesn't really matter, but if it's a randomly changing part like the "chain" type steering wheel on the slamvan, (Pictured in that topic.) then I could really use pics of both versions.

 

Again, if anyone could check this, or get me the pics I'd be indebted to you.

I'll try some more soon, it's just the hours it takes to upload that kill me. That and all the wires strung across my room while my usb capture device is plugged in. But now I figure if I could upload that one, then some shorter ones are worth a shot.

This one is 2:14, I did it like five times, and once I would have done it in 2:11,

but like ballofsnow mentioned, I kept shooting right past the damn stoplight.

And I remembered to throw a song into this one, I hadn't realized I forgot to do

that last time until I had already uploaded the whole thing.

Sorry Mxyzptlk, but without the nitros I wouldn't even have come close to your time.

 

Even starting the nitros at different times slowed me down. It's strange, but on my other tries I used the entire nitros without crashing or slowing down, (On the second, and final bridges.) and my time was a few seconds slower.

 

So it turns out that what I considered as wasting a bit of the nitros, was actually made up for by using them to get from a slow speed to a fast one more rapidly.

Yeah the only time I think nitros will be much help is when you are basically at a stop. They seem to increase acceleration a lot, but not top speed.

ok ive made a new track up, i designed it to be full of fast straights, blind corners and sudden hairpin bends, well... so here it is....

EDIT:my new best lap time elegy/2mins:26secs/nos=no

best advice....DONOT use an elegy for this track if u want an impressive time, lol

It could probably be adapted and used for our video races... just need a clearly defined start and finish... like start in your safehouse garage and finish by enter the same safe house after 3 laps.... reduced traffic and limited car choices might be good ideas too.

Anyhoo, track looks a wee bit short to me, you wanna design a course, take a look at the others first.

As I understand it anyone can submit a track, they even raced mine. Entering the competition requires that you provide a video of your race. But if you can't, you can still try and submit one. At first I was only going to submit a race without racing in the others, and they still put mine up.

 

Just read the first post and the rules on beeblebrox5000's website.

 

And remember to give some specifics, for instance:

• A starting point.
• An ending point that is easily noticed (usually striking, or ramming something.)
• What vehicles can be used.
• What cheats (If any.) are acceptable.
• What mods are allowed. (Like nitros, etc.)
• It should be possible to finish in five minutes or less. (Since they are supposed to be recorded.)
• Is there a specific time that you think the race should start.
• If the track is a circuit, then in which direction should it be raced.

That one looks pretty tough Ogglock, it's more complicated that I'd like, too many opportunities to make a wrong turn and have to start over....

I'm nowhere near the right person to say whether or not it's acceptable. But I can tell you that I couldn't do it. The races are done with the in game map (radar) off, and without it I'd never be able to remember that route.

 

Looks like a pretty fun race, but I'd get lost more than once.

It seems doubtful that such a long course and with radar on that it will be come an official track for points... but it's still good to share your ideas here and racers looking for a challenge can do it.

and@beeblebrox5000 :it looks small but its a slow-assed track, so the lap times are longer, have u tryed it?? cuz i found it very tough to get a decent time on it, try it if u havnt yet,

ballofsnow, did you manage to sort out the upload problems with tga for the beach shorts race?

and yes, more people need to submit their races, i'll be joining in about 40 days...one problem though

i'll first have to finish the story line far enough to unlock all islands for the races..might take a week or two
