BTW...I was able to download one saved game 'Death Row' the other day from the post of Fuzzy and I got a trojan because of it. Luckily I was able to fix it...maybe the host site where the files were saved had viruses or worms or something.

 

Hopefully someone could post (again) a saved game - 'The Driver' ....minus the trojan I'm stuck there, it's frustrating. I haven't slept over night...I only stopped because of that mission LOL. Another one I can't pass is 'Demolition Man'.

I'm really sorry to hear it about your computer. I've just now tested the link you claimed to be infected, and downloaded the file without incident. I then ran a scan of the folder with Norton's AntiVirus, and it came up clean. I'm not suggesting you're lying, but I do think that perhaps something other than the saved game link infected your PC.

 

For the record, I didn't produce or host any of the saved games - you'll notice this save in question was produced and uploaded by simps, and is hosted at reputable file uploading sites - meaning the chance of infection is very low.

 

All in all, I personally believe that your PC was infected by some means other than the saved game. If you're still convinced, feel free to PM me back and we'll sort this out.   

 

I too am getting file not found errors at a lot of the hosting. I'll have to get onto simps to see if he can reupload the files, but until then, I highly recommend you look into Demarest's Code Tools. In particular, Time Vault. With this, you can enter the pink 'trigger mission' marker of any mission in the game, and it'll instantly pass it for you. When you've done the ones you're having trouble with, you can swap back to the original game files and proceed as per usual. Read the topic for more information regarding this.

 

Once again, I'm very sorry about your PC - I've had my fair share of viruses in the past and they do indeed suck.

'Last Mission Passed: Death Row'. When I clicked another window popped out and it said something like click here to download and when I did McAfee  immediately detected a trojan and it can't be cleaned!  I couldn't control it and  a few minutes after McAfee was already informing me that my outlook attempted to send 5 messages in 30 secs. I was able to fix it by using system restore, re-installing McAfee, and cleaning my entire drive.

 

A day after that no links were already working for me...not sure if that's because of my computer or the webshost you used to store the files deleted them already. The 'Death Row' was first and only file I downloaded. I tried again but I'm always lead to this site ---

and it says :

 

Requested file don`t exist on our servers!

Reasons for this may include:

 

- Invalid link

- The file was deleted by uploder

- The file was deleted (old file)

- The file was deleted because of violating our Terms of service

 

Like what I said in my post...I'm stuck with 'The Driver' (and also 'Dildo Dodo' and 'Demolition Man') can someone please (please and please) upload the files again.

WHat browser you using Fuzzy..

 

I used firefox and was redirected from the download page... there was a link there (at the redirected site) that said "download here" or something similar... I don't think its the file, but the redirect page...

 

perhaps IE or other browsers are protecting better??? (from the re-direct)... Waggy what browser you using??

 

Anyway, thats why I edited the first post with that message...

 

I'll check it with all 3 of my browswers on my XP machine... to see if the redirect works or not on each one and post up what happens....

 

Will do so later... gotta leave the house now.

Note that on the download page (after you wait the thirty seconds and input the three character code), I'm blocking scripts from a location 'adsrevenue.net' which I am convinced could be the source of the problem.

 

Once again I ran into no issues downloading the file. I suggest you both have a look into this with NoScript (it should automatically block ALL scripts and allow only those you wish it to), just to see if my hunch is correct. Cheers.

I checked his (Simps) profile, no activity in the last 6 months...

 

Better add that addon to firefox...

I'll get something together starting Friday regarding the new host and probably a better collection of saves. Shouldn't take too long to throw some together, especially if I use Dem's Time Vault along the way.

You don't have a modded game, do you? In general, saves won't load on modded script files.

 

I'm working on producing an entire new set of saves from the ground up. Coupled with the availability of Dem's Code Tools, it should cover everyone's needs.

I am desperately seeking this file as well.

 

I just purchased GTA3:VC through Steam, and completed alot of it, but then tried to download a 100% file which accidentally overrode my previous legitimate savegame, and now I can't find any save files that work.

 

Please assist!

Sorry you lost your save-- it is a good practice to use to utilize 3 save slots for your current game and rotate which sloty you save in each time--- I am actually using 4 slots in GTA4 (5 if you count the auto save slot)-- luckilly they give you 12 slots now.

 

There seems to be enough steam version people on here that maybe you can start putting together a steam version archive of saves..... Thoughts???

Yeah, that actually seems like a really good idea, I was thinking about this last night.

 

I would even be happy if someone with the steam version of the game could just upload one of their save files for me to use, it doesn't even need to be 100%, I just don't want to have to start the game all over again

You might want to start up a new thread and ask for people to post their "STEAM" saves-- just for visibility

 

--- realize that samutz SNP uploader does erase the saves after a short period of time so unless you make arrangements with him to host them permanently (he will do that) they will go away.

 

Also you might want to see if Dems Timevault will work on the steam version-- if so you can create a nice assortment of saves pretty quickly.... I'm afraid it won't work though but you never know.

It would help people a lot better if you were to use proper grammar in your posts. I understand if English isn't your first language, but you seem to have a grasp on the language enough to structure a sentence together, without using slang and shortening the words.

 

You haven't illegally downloaded the game have you? Because if you have, I'm afraid your problem is not welcome on these forums, and it also may be the reason your game is the way it is.

i bought it and its originel ..but yesterday i installed win98 and it works normaly in it so i think the problem it is in my winXP

I think it's time to call this topic a day. Sure, it's been helpful in the past, but for those of you who actually try to download these saves, you'll realise that all save links are dead, and a few of the download links in the mods table also don't work. Not to mention the mods segment of this topic is better off in the modding section of the forums in the first place.

 

But please, if anybody wishes to produce their own save games, reminiscent or not to the ones in the first post of this topic, feel free to PM either me or Spuds, and maybe this topic can be revived. But for now it's going to be locked and unpinned.
