What exactly are you asking??

Do you want someone to use that save and complete the indicated mission (Demolition man)??

Thats would be a request for the Save N Play thread

This thread is for uploading/archiving useful saves... not necessarily for doing requests (although if the saves are useful, I can add them)....

PLease clarify what you are asking.

How do I "connect" the file to my game?

(I need to know ASAP)

This is in the first post of this thread---

At current, you download a ZIP file. If you are using Windows XP, you should have no problems opening it. If not, you can grab WinZIP or WinRAR to 'unzip' the folder for you.

Once unzipped, the folder will open to reveal another folder. This second folder holds 4 files. The saved game (.b), the readme (.txt), the stats (.txt), and the stats webpage (.html).

Read the readme, so you have a full understanding of exactly what you downloaded. Once that's done, copy the saved game (.b file), and paste it into your saved game directory. This should be 'My Documents\GTA Vice City User Files\'.

If you already have a file with that name - you will be notified by a warning if you do - you can do one of two things. You can delete the old file if you don't want your old saved game any more, or you can rename the downloaded file. Simply change the 'X' in the file name 'GTAVCsfX.b' to a different numeral between 1 and 8. This corresponds to each game slot.

Once you've placed the downloaded file correctly into your saved game folder, you're ready. Fire up Vice City, and choose the game from the 'load game' menu. If, for example, the game you downloaded was 'GTAVCsf7.b', it would be in the 7th slot.

Done.

It didn't appear. sad.gif

How did it not appear? You need to provide us with as much relevant information as possible.

Do you have an unzipping application installed on your computer? If not, or if you're unsure, I suggest you grab WinRAR (here). It's fairly simple to run, but if you run into problems, post again in here. No doubt someone else in the future will be in the same position as you, and will then benefit from this discussion.

I only gave you a link to an unzipping program because I feel that's the only part of my instructions in the first post that is somewhat lacking in step by step information. If I'm wrong, however, don't hesitate to point me to the actual problem. Do try to provide more information when doing so, though.

I think I should do a revision of these "Save Games" i.e. 1 save - Busted/Wasted - 0/0

I haven't opened VC for more than six months so it's like playing for the first time almost, so bear with me and 'don't hold your breath' for the revision wink.gif ... BUT I will do it. colgate.gif

There's been disagreements before about the way assets are handled. So here you have it. My most recent VC game. The catch? After I did Shakedown, I did EVERYTHING except the Vercetti Estate. Just thought I'd share it since so much time went into it. The link.

Checkpoint missions don't become available until after doing certain story missions.

Here's what you do: Start a new game and save. Now load your save using my Shatterstorm Code Tool. Save. Load the game with the original code. Save. Load the game with my Wanderlust Code Tool. Save. Now all hidden packages and unique jumps are claimed. As for things like passing rampages, Time Vault can do all that for you, allowing you to tailor make any save you'd like. Might take you 10 minutes, but then you can save it and even share the save for others who would like the same thing smile.gif

Thanks demarest. I would like to use your time vault tool, but how do i back up my main.scm file when i go to my user files, i cannot find a file with that name. also, how do you use the time vault code? how do you pass the "bombs away" and "dildo dodo" and "the driver" missions, on "bombs away" and "Dildo dodo" i can't seem to keep the planes in the air. and on the driver mission, i can't seem to beat hillary in the race, some times the game glitches and he gets stuck in the road and when i get to the finish line it says"mission failed-Hillary died". thank for the help. rolleyes.gif

Read Dem's instructions on his website/in the pinned topics (Gameplay and Cheats/Tricks forums). They're concise and cover everything. However, to give you a head start: main.scm is found in '*install directory*\data'.

If you've got specific mission problems, post in the Gameplay forum asking for advice, or the SNP topic (pinned in Cheats/Tricks) asking for someone to do the mission for you.

This thread sucks, none of the links are working.

I just clicked on the first link in the thread and it worked... so your post is false...

but if you would like to post which links are dead, we (me or fuzzy) can investigate the problem.

I also just checked Dems timevault and it will also download...

For timevault-- there should be instructions on how to use it... (please note I don't play the PC version and have never used this mod, just have read how to use it about a 100 times)

First... download the file- it is zipped, there should be a main.scm file in the zipped file....

Go into your VC files and find your main.scm file...

rename it and/or move it (you want to save it, it is your original and you will need it back later).

Now after you have renamed/moved it, take dems main.scm and move it to the directory where your old one was..

Now fire up VC... with the modded main.scm file installed, any mission marker you enter will be instantly passed (you will be teleported a short distance to keep you from entering the next mission marker automatically)---- after you have passed the missions you want,

close VC-- move the modified main.scm file somewhere else, and move your original main.scm back to its original location (or rename it back to main.scm if you renamed it originally)..

now your game will work as before....

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think I am.....

HTH...

Can anyone upload a savegame with Demolition Man+Guardian Angels both completed? biggrin.gif

Just use Dem's Time Vault (pinned in the Code Tools topic in the Cheats & Tricks forum). You can pass any mission you want, so as to produce a tailor-made save with minimal fuss.

As mentioned many times previously, the open-ended, free-roaming nature of VC (mainly the asset mission strings) makes it nigh impossible to find a single save that is exactly what you're looking for.
