Australian Xbox version

GTA3Freak pretty much answered your question completely, but I just thought I'd point out that (in New Zealand at least) the GTA Double Pack (GTA3 and Vice City on Xbox and PS2) was R18 and uncut, so I wouldn't think they would change anything when it comes to San Andreas.

In Australia we don't have an R rating for games. The highest is MA 15+, so games like the GTA Double Pack were cut.

Incorrect, my Xbox copy of the GTA Double Pack is un-edited and has the typical 18+ sticker on the front. Dunno about the PS2 version of the Double Pack.

Well your right about games not being rated R here but I was meaning the Double PAck being cut.

Well, in Germany they did 2 versions ... and you couldnt tell the difference between those 2 so you had to be lucky if you picked up the un-edited one. But I won't think they'll do that again. I spoke to a friend of mine who works at the Media Markt (distributing store like woolworth) and when I asked him about the PS2 Version he said that nothing is going to be edited if you have your PS2/XBox set on English Language.

The Australian versions of both GTAIII and Vice City on all systems were edited to remove hookers. If you managed to get San Andreas from the first shipment of the game then you will have an unedited version but if you didn't then you probably have an edited version.

Were hookers the only thing edited out of this version of San Andreas?

No they are all unedited, GTA3 was the only one that at first was un-edited but later in other shipments they then took out the hookers due to our censorship system which sucks royally. Vice City was edited from the start as far as I know.

We still have the hookers, we're just not able to partake in their services.

Nothing else was cut.

What are you on about opie? In the copy of San An I've played, you can and that was from a video store!

I quoted the wrong guy (sort of). I meant to say you couldn't partake in their services IN THE LAST TWO GAMES.

Please excuse me. blush.gif

lol, I was a tad confused. Australian won't be edited like the PS2 verion, and expect it on the 10th of June. If, and if it gets deylayed to here, it will be edited.

Well I know in New Zealand, we get the game the same time as the Europe release (10th June). The GTA games here don't get edited, but I think Australian version gets cut, and also has changed like feet to meters. Though, Im not sure if SA will be the same... confused.gif

The Australian version will be completely unmodified, if the PS2 versions are anything to go by. Even the distance units are handled the same internally, there's just a 'is_metric' opcode that works out the game region.

So in theory at least, SA PC should be the same all around the world.

It shouldn't be censored from hookers because you have to drop them off and pick them up as a side mission and the reward counts to the 100% completion and the reward is that they pay you, so it shouldn't be censored, whats the big deal anyway? ive seen worse in M15+, and thia game is what? MA15+.
