what do you think of vice city?

Recommended Posts

I still love VC but a few things bug me about going back to VC--

1. The size of VC-- I never considered it small when I was playing it-- I estimate one of the cities in SA has more roads then all of VC although VC is spread out...

2. Driving bikes between the games-- the motorcycles physics are much better in VC-- it's possible to do incredible stunts in VC that you can't come close to in SA--although SA did improve the "ridability" of the bikes by adding bike skill making it harder to fall off the bikes-- when riding a PCJ in VC I can do much better stunts but find its pretty easy to fall off--bikes are pretty forgiving in SA after maxing your motorbike skill.

3. The hunter in SA moved the fire button for the minigun to L1 from R1--it just throws me off when I fly.

4. I also don't care for the eating thing in SA-- since I don't use cheats I have to stop and eat eventually--kind of irritating when you are in the middle of something (killing spree or vigilante)

You'd cry if I tell you that Liberty City is even smaller... he he.

Vice City = 2 times the size of Liberty City

San Andreas = 4 or 6 times the size of Vice City wow.gif

The funny thing is that in real life New York is a lot bigger than Miami... whatsthat.gif

I like the general feel of Vice City more. I guess I like the '80s more than the 90s. I also liked the size of Vice City more. I'm not the kind of guy who would play a game for a total of 100+ hours, so a smaller sized map is always good. That said, I could still cope with San Andreas' size easily.

Obviously, the awesome additions to San Andreas gave it better gameplay. Things such as the pedal bikes, jet pack, swimming, the stats mode - and there's a lot more, but I'm not going to go into them all now - all made it more appealing. However, in my opinion, if Vice City had the additions San Andreas had, Vice City would be the better game. It had a more 'fun' feel to it.

Of course, all of that is my opinion. Everyone else is entitled to different thoughts.

Honestly, I think Vice City is even worse ever since San Andreas came out.

When Vice City came out, I thought it was great. New cars. New weapons. New plot. Almost everything was new. Then, when I finished it, I wasn't as excited because the city was incredibly boring, and lacked that something which made me go back to GTAIII.

I know VC is physically bigger then LC-- but LC doesn't feel small to me-- the lack of an in game map adds to this feeling--- VC is pretty big but there is alot of wasted space (beaches, golf course)-- they packed alot into the area of LC.

I will add that I got used to not drowning when I fall in the water in SA.

Swimming in SA is the sh*t. I used to get so frustrated on VC when ya landed in water, it was over... I go back and play VC often, and as soon as

I land in water... I seem to just turn it off for a while.

SA is so huge, ya the eating thing can be annoying, but not too drastic.

I love that you can take a country cruise. There's so much more.

I like VC's storyline better though.

I was gonna make a post about this a few days ago but maybe somebody will come accross it here. This might blow your mind but what if Rockstar made all 3 games backwards starting out with San Andreas? Think about that Vice City wouldnt change much but Liberty City would be HUGE! There would be an entire Park the City alone would span an eternity but as for San Andreas...if it was the first game ya might get by with Los Santos and the Badlands the whole game would be about Las Santos living.

Uhm, Liberty City is much bigger then Vice City, plus the fact that LC is far less linear makes it seem even bigger.

i think vice is the coolest of the gta's i played... (i aint really played sa yet, just like 10 mins)

1- cuz Tommy rules, and he TALKS... not like Fido who was like a robot making what others wanted...

2- Because of how the map big is

3- Because of the city... i live in a cold area so all games with sunny cities and all that south sh*t is good for me =)

4- that you could do more things than in other games

5- the story =)

Well, I'm talking about the map size here... VC's map is bigger than LC's. And I'm pretty sure that Vice City (the city itself) is bigger than Liberty City.

after reaching 100% in sa i planned on goin back to III and getting a 100% again.

i moved the gta III file around a bit and the last time i tried my 100% file did not work but it loaded this time and the file now works

now i planned on beating VC again after that file was completely erased

VC is about half as good as it was before.

i dont know what happened as soon as i started playing it i wanted to switch right back to sa.

one quick VC question can you cheat and still get 100%? my friend seems to think no and i wouldnt know because i only had 98% before it was erased.

.

Sorry Volcom-- your question took the topic off on a tangent so I split it off into its own thread-- here is your original post.

Whereas I appreciate the amount of work went into SA, the overall feel of Vice does it for me. I just seem to have a lot mroe fun playing it. Granted, you can't swim which is a pain in the ass in a city like Vice, but I can look past that.

When I load up VC I feel like I'm going to have fun, and for some reason when I load up SA I have a feeling similar to the feeling I get when I'm about to go to work.

I never played SA yet so I won't comment on it.

But I think Liberty is better than Vice.

Vice City, even though is quiet special and fun at the early stage, still can't give me as much as I did in GTA 3.

I actually don't like the 80's, or 70's, or 60's, or 50's ..................
