Midnight Club 3: DUB EDITION *Remix*

This game is shapeing up to be some hot sh*t. Way better than NFS:U. Ricerness is invisible in this game, you can supe up your car with aftermarket parts, more customization options than any racing game out on the market right now, and it's faster than Burnout: 3.

That's not rice, do you even know the difference between "ricing" a car and customizing it? Putting gold trim, rims, and a minor body kit on a car isn't rice.

Actually there are 2 toyota's to my knowledge. The list is only populated with cars R* has revealed. A toyota celica was spotted in one of the videos for the game by some people on another board.

And about the cars missing thing, that isn't R*'s fault. The cars in this game are fully damageable. And some car deisngers don't like having their cars in racing games where they damage. Honda especially. They HATE including their cars in those type of games. So, that means no honda, and no acura. sad.gif

And nothing is half assed, each catagory has it's share of aftermarker performance parts, and cosmetic aftermarket parts.

Go check out the videos and screenshots before you go making assumptions from the 10 i posted.

@Sip - Eh how is that ricing combined with muscle? Each car has its appropriate tuning parts so you won't be able to put a huge wing on your Pontiac GTO.

Yeah I am looking forward to this even though its missing a few favourites but hey its covering a wide range of vehicles so you have to excpect a few missing from each catorgory.

That's different car isn't it? Yes that to me is going too far with tuning a muscle car but the car you quoted had a very appropiate body kit on it. Still the the blue car still isn't really Rice just really overly done-up.

imo its rice, and if they rice out a 78 monte carlo, whats to say the same wont be done to others. these games are emasculating cars and i for one think it is horrible.

I agree with SYN, the muscle cars would be better without the rice.

It will still be a good game.

Yes. Once again, do you know what ricing is? There's a difference between customizing your car with cosmetic parts along with a nice tuning kit and giving it a stylish look, and puting guady giant wings that don't provide any downforce, and huge kits that drape the ground with giant holes and plastic parts and not adding any engine upgrades to top it off.

Putting huge wings, racing seats, rims that cost more than car, and a gigantic muffler on a junker is rice.

Spending money and putting tastefull kits and rims on your tip top shape monte carlo is not.

You don't even know the difference between customizing a ride, and ricing it out. That's why i hate that term, cause idiots like you don't know how to use it properly.

It's nice to love cars SYN, but love cars without being such a snob. It's nice to have your views, and i respect that you have them. But i disagree with them greatly, because they're misguided. confused.gif

Anyways,

The screenshots in the game are supposed to show off the level of customization. You are NOT recruired to put tasteless kits, and useless upgrades on your car in MC3:D like you had to in NFS:U2. It's a choice, you can keep your car completly stock if you want to.

That Monte Carlo IS rice, though.

Gaudy wing? Check.

No downforce? Check.

Rims more expensive than car? Check.

Pointless drag bar? Check.

Retarded chrome bar on side of car? Check.

That kit is not tasteful.

That Monte Carlo is not in top shape.

This doesn't look all that good to me, I don't see what it offers more than NFSU2, plus I haven't seen anything on the racing for the game, just customization. I would never want to see a flame job and spoiler on an escalade.

How can you prove any of those things are true? It's a video game.

How do you know the rims are more expensive than the car? You can't see them.

How do you know the wing isn't providing downforce?

The wing isn't guady, it's not even THAT big.

How exactly do you know the drag bar is pointless?

The chrome bar is for style.

The kit is tastefull. But it's opinion i guess.

Rice

any modification that is supposed to make a car look fast, when in fact it does nothing for speed, and may in fact hurt performance, or any vehicle that has been subjected to this treatment. note that any make of vehicle may be "riced". gaudy, pointless, absurd body modifications and paint schemes, annoying bees hive exhaust tips. asians are the best at "ricing" a vehicle, along with spoiled rich white high-school teenagers.

in reality, those wheels with that small of a sidewall would make the car bounce around turns, the spoiler, rear bumper, chrome trim and wheelie bars would weigh it down, with those size rims the car would handle like sh*t and it would take incredible ammounts of torque for the car to even pull a wheelie with that much extra weight added. therefore its rice.

now if they wanted to have some good modifications for the muscle cars, how about fibreglass front clips and tube frame chassis.

and i know you dont have to, but throughout the game you will likely run into many dis-tasteful cars.

rice = looking fast at all costs

muscle = going fast at all costs

Those modifications you speak of are included in the game along with the cosmetic ones. How many times do i have say that?

What's the big problem with that? It's a video game.

rice = looking fast at all costs

muscle = going fast at all costs

And doing both is a sin against god or something?

Jesus, this isn't a racing sim, it isn't a street racing sim, it's just a street racing video game. The best one that's out on the market right now too. So why don't we stop bitching about the cosmetic details of the cars in the screenshots, and actually talk about the GAMEPLAY instead?

you guys bable and bable about rice and other stuff but as far i know it's always up to you to customize your ride, so the choice to rice up something is up to you and your taste... so don't come with that sh*t that "ooh, it's a stupid game because you can put huge wings on a monte...." that's just sound like a lame excuse for not finding anything good to complain about for me yawn.gif

i've seen the videos of the game, and so far i'm linking it and planing to get it once it's released, the speed feeling and city life looks much more active than compared to nfsu2. On MC2 it used to have people walking on the streets and you could run onto they.... i hope they keept that feature, cus i couldn't see anyone on the streets during the vids

Now this is a good post.

Yeah i remember how you could run people down on the streets and stuff, but the streets in the past games used to be so thing. Im loving the improvements on the way they did the cities this time, the streets have a lot more room.

And unlike all the street racers out there, this game has cops in it.

the last good racing game with customizable muscle cars was motor city online and that went offline in august 03. why have the game companies not been able to put out a racing game at par with motor city online? it didnt have any of this stupid "level one suspension upgrade, choose what brand of parts you want" you could choose different stiffness of springs and sway bars.

why does it seem every new racing game has an average target age of 13. Are there that few people out there looking for a true racing/customization game?

So far, most people have been comparing MC3 to MCO. The only difference is that this game wont have monthly updates. All those things and levels of upgrading without too much restriction should already be in this game. It is, there are no level 1 packages, none of that NFS:U sh*t.

Go research the game man. Go to some other boards, talk to people who know about it more than you. Ask some questions instead of whining for god sakes. confused.gif

the only things i have found about the customization simply say it will be "deeper" than nfs:u2

IGN: What kind of depth will the customization feature offer?

JP: The simple answer to this is that Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition offers the deepest vehicle customization component ever in a video game. The player can create more customization combinations than any other game. We worked hard to team up with as many aftermarket part manufacturers as possible, so the number of unique creations that can be made is virtually infinite. By way of example, when choosing what color your car should be, you get to choose from five different paint styles (Matte, Metallic, Gloss, Pearlescent, and Color Shift). There are dozens of standard colors available, but the player can also create their own custom colors. The ease with which you can create any color and paint job you can imagine is staggering. When you multiply all these colors by the hundreds of rims, bumpers, grills, hoods, spoilers, exhaust tips, vinyls and so much more that it's impractical to list, you get the idea of the virtually limitless number of combinations you can create. The garage is very accessible, and creating a ride like no one else's is incredibly rewarding

The performance upgrades let you fine tune your ride to blistering levels. Air intakes, headers, superchargers, engine computers.. Everything you need to create the monster you always dreamed of. Imagine customizing a Lamborghini Murcielago with your own personal flavor, modifying the performance to make it scream then putting it to the test on real city streets...

who has been comparing it to mco?

You might want to try some message boards. Gamefaqs has a pretty good one about MC3. Not many n00bs their either. I know how you guys bitch about them.

And i never said there was an article about how MCO was compared to MC3. I said PEOPLE WHO PLAYED MCO ARE COMPARING MC3 TO IT.

Jesus Sip, just drop it would you, we get your point that you think the game is a ricefest and you don't like the game. Good for you now go play GT4 as that's the game you go to when you want real racing. This is just an arcade racer where you can do what the hell you want to your car. Turn it into an ugly POS or something that looks good it doesn't matter.
